Well this is great

So I come back to a great surprise. I came back from jogging and tried starting my car. It started horrible the first 2 times. Now i try to start it and the theft light starts blinking and it and just makes a tiktikitikik sound I don't think it can be the starter I replaced that not even 8 months ago.

I disconnected the negative terminal so I'm going to wait about half an hour hopefully that fixes.

If not what can this be and what causes this?

Hopefully just battery and not alternator. Take the old one with you so you can trade the core.

IG @Oxford5pointoh

The battery was going bad. I replaced it. It's fine for now.

How would I know if it's the pats?
So I don't freak out again lol

Pats would give you nothing when you turn the key (no crank or click) and the security light will come on. Lots of the people who report having the issue have intermittent problems. So it might not start once, come back 5 min later, fired right up.

Glad the battery fixed your issue

Keep an eye on your alternator now. Generally the battery and alternator have issues together. That could be why your old battery dumped on ya

The PATS situation is funky. There are a few different things PATS can do. When my car threw a PATS code, everything would work except the fuel would get cut off after 2 seconds of running. The igntion and starter would work just fine in my case

My PATs does what panthers did. It will start but shut off after a couple seconds. Im ordering a tune and tuner this week and will have it shut off. It will strand me eventually so i dont drive it unless i dont have to shut it off in case it acts up. Luckily i have been able to get it going again when this has happened by un hooking my battery for about 10min

PATS (passive Anti_Theft System) uses a special key transponder chip (located in the ignition keys black top) that transmits its code to a transiever, located by the ignition that the key is inserted into. If the code does not match what is stored in the PATS module, then the ignition is disabled, or disabled right after startup. The LED light (on the dash) will flash differently (as described in your owners manual) to indicate that an attempt was made to start the car with an invalid PATS code for that car.

This is why you simply cannot buy a blank key, have it cut, and expect it to start your car without first having it programmed with your PATS code. If you have TWO keys already, you can do this; if you have only one, then either a dealer or a locksmith will have to do this.

I don't think a tuner can disable PATS....

everyone else pay attention to what Bucko said about extra keys....if you only have two go make a 3rd one (right now!) or if you every loose one it will take a trip to the dealer to make a replacement. you need 2 working keys to make a 3rd.

Most good tuners will disable PATS.

I didnt know they could until i inquired with them. Im going to get mine disabled because going to the dealer to see what needs to be fixed will cost me as much as a tune for 400 bucks, or at least close. This way i can get a little performance and have the actual programmer for future use also. My key is new, programmed by a locksmith worked for over a year, it could just be my key. I figure at least 200 if i go to a dealer and its just the key, labor, blank, and programming charge. If its more it will cost more as there are several different things that could be wrong and cost even more. Thats why i am going to go this route.

To bad to you just turn the ignition to the run position, get a rolling start, and then let off the clutch.

Had a old F150 with a crap starter I refused to replace as it only did it when it was hot, always parked headed downhill and it always started.
