Gas smell 04 GT

What would cause a gas smell from the engine bay? I checked the Rear just in case and no leaks from gas tank. This morning i shift to 5th gear and started to smell gas inside the vehicle for a few seconds and it went away.

If it's smelling like gas in the engine bay, you should check for leaks on the gas lines going to the fuels rails and all around both fuel rails. If there's wetness, touch it with your fingers (when engine is cool) and smell them. If you smell gas, then you'll want to look closer in that area.

Leak in your fuel line going to the rails or the rails themselves or you have bad o rings on the injectors.

Could be a purge valve

You want to check the rubber hose that goes from the evap can (passenger side fender well) to the purge valve then to the back of the plenum.

This hose has a tendency to deteriorate and when it does it will smell of gas.

Don't know if this is your problem but it's easy to check

Still on the lookout. Will have to check this weekend. I still get the random misfire at start up after putting new plugs in. I put seafoam in the meantime see if cleans. Also changed my fuel filter.
