Should just open the trunk, pop out a couple large rubber grommets and un bolt.

It is that simple. My buddy put plugs in the holes, didn't look half bad.

I attempted to do it one day. It is that simple. It's four nuts that are covered by rubber plugs on the underside of the trunk. I had the nylon plugs that fit the holes in the trunk and touch up paint from ford. Reason why I didn't do it, is because when I got done buffing the crap off the paint, I was left with deep gouges the spoiler covered up from years of being attached and just wear. I put it back on and decided to do it right and sand it down and paint the whole trunk. I haven't got around to it yet tho.

I took mine off one day and had the same issue. If i didnt have the wear marks i was going to plug temporarily and see how i liked it. But i put it back on because of the gouges. Its not worth it enough to me to paint it. I would rather get a cobra spoiler and get that painted to match if im spending money on it

you need to use the tiny ones for detailed work like this. you didnt think he was talking about a full size gas powered chain saw, did you? you only use those for exhaust work.

Yeah it looks way better without a spoiler. Just bite the bullet and take it to a shop and have the holes filled and have it painted. Can't imagine you'd drop more than 300 bucks. If you know how to weld and can do body work you could get the holes filled do the body work and take it apart and just take it to a shop and the price would be way lower just for paint work they don't have to prep anything around.

I just did it today.
It looks more complicated than it really is.

Just unscrew the bolts and get fasteners make sure to get some silicone for the screws so water doesn't go in.

Mine are vinyl so zero chance of damaging the car. Just be careful of tearing them. They are more like stickers than actual vinyl.

I planned to put on a wing this summer on a different trunk lid. But getting an apartment so going from 0 rent to $700/mo is going to be taking a hard hit on me.

I guess I'm in the minority that still likes the wing. I preferred mine with the wing on but I did waffle a lot on the look. Doesn't look.bad on your guys' cars though

Trust me, I'm not saying it looks bad, the look of wingless is just my personal opinion. Many people pull off the look quite well

Our trunks are fiberglass, welding the holes up won't work. Only right way to do it is sand the area out into a low spot down to the base fiberglass. Then add some layers of fiberglass patch on top and then fill it all in with a little bondo. Primer paint and clear coat after that.

Thats what I was planning on doing...just have to sand it really wel because those blackish spots are either epoxy or some kind of resin...s*** is hard as a rock.
