Gains from heads and stage 1 cams

Looking to get some upgrade work done on my '99 GT, and have been debating between a Vortech V3 or just some Trickflow heads and a stage 1 cam. Obviously I'd get more power going with the blower, but there's also the cost factor and the fact that it's harder on the car. I've been quoted about $7000 for all the parts, labor, and the tune. Haven't asked for a quote on heads/cam yet, but I assume it should be several thousand cheaper.

Do you think I'd be able to hit 300 wheel horsepower with the following mods and a good dyno tune? The engine is in great shape. Ford remanufacted with about 16k miles on it now.

Already existing mods:
- JLT in-fender cold air intake
- MAC longtube headers
- catted X-pipe
- Borla Stingers catback

Want to add:
- Trickflow Twisted Wedge heads
- Stage 1 cams (should I go with Comp Cams?)

I'd love to hear final power numbers from people who have done a similar setup on their 99-04 GTs! Do I need to upgrade my injectors?

You'll want at least 24s for injectors. TFS heads with cams on the 281 will get you over 300 no problem.

I wouldn't do it personally, you can get close to 300 with just cams on PI heads and run low 12s.

Ya dont do the heads listen to scotty, because ur going to hit a wall being n.a and when u want more u will have to either go juiced or blown in which u can do that with stock heads a d make wayyy more power then n.a... Now there are places that will port ur stock heads alot cheaper then buying trickflows which will net u decent n.a numbers being na and while the heads are off u can get u some valves with the lips cut (mhs has them cheap) so u can run a bigger cam and u can also notch the pistons those 2 combined u will not run into ptv issues

TFS heads are basically for ppl running a max effort NA motor or they want to go over 700hp on a boosted application. Ported PI heads flow well... like... REALLY well. And they much cheaper. At least around here there is a badass head porter who does full PI ports for $1500 and you can sell him your cores to make it even cheaper. Even if you have to go with MHS and pay the shipping it is still a damn good deal.
