I guess it's about that time. For those that followed my build on my 03 3.8. I'm starting round 2. This time with a soft top and a V8.
This time around I picked up a 2004 GT convertible. Interior was great and not a dent or ding in the body. Best of all it was very well maintained. Engine runs strong, and smooth as butter. But it can get better. Over the next several months I'm going to turn this into MY mustang.
So far I pulled off the bug deflector and stipes off the hood, scoop and trunk. Installed the Mach 1 grille delete kit and Mach 1 chin spoiler. New headlights should be here in the next day or two. Next step will be the O/R mac prochamber, and SLP Loudmouth exhaust. From there I'll get into the good stuff. Suspension and power!

Why wouldn't you get them to send you a new one right away? I mean I'm not sure how far away you are...
This is the ONE thing I hate about AM as far as their ordering. If they were as good as Summit/Jegs, they would overnight you the right product if it was their mess up. But they don't.
Either way I'd try to get them to eat the cost. Save the receipt and provide copies. Call them or PM a rep on here.
They wanted me to have it scanned in at UPS before they would ship out the new one. Fortunately I had my guy weld on flanges so I can still pull off the system when I add the mac O/R prochamber and the long tubes.

Yeah they did the same thing when they sent me a nicked rim and I had to wait an extra 3 days to put my rims on. Like I said, if it is a return that is one thing but if it's something this bad they should ship out right away no questions asked.

When I was missing a shift know with my short throw I messaged Alex and he shipped me a new one no questions asked. I didn't even print the return label until after I had the shifter installed.
Eh... handled by overpaying but as long as you are happy I guess. It looks good although every time I see those Icons I have a different opinion on them.
Hopefully you can get some kind of re-imbursement from AM...
And if AM is watching... you guys really REALLY need to change your policy when its a screw up on your end. Just like the big boys do. The one and only time Summit ever messed up an order of mine on their end I had it on my doorstep the next morning overnight guaranteed by 10AM delivery. There is no excuse to not fix order mistakes in this way when it is clearly your fault.
They look good. Im with Scotty as they should have at least shipped you a new exhaust kit as soon as you called even if it was standard shipping. AM is a really good company and im sure they will take care of you no problem though. I guess even good companies have their faults. Im sure it was shipped to them missing the parts to begin with. Good sounding exhuast. Im glad your happy with it and in the end if funds are good the money spent is worth it!!

Doing some more sanding, painting, and more sanding...
The wife wants it to look a bit better until I have the whole car painted in November. My concern was taking care of the rust. Still have a bunch of sanding over the next couple days, then going to clear it.

Yeah that looks good. White is easy, that's what I had to do for my Cobra and it came out ok. Which is why I thought it might work with a silver car... lol no. Get some clear on it and polish it up and I bet it will be invisible.
Also I would highly recommend swapping decklids if she's ok with it. Wingless= better x100 on these cars unless you have an actual need for downforce and then the stock wing is useless for that anyway.
Map lights are size 194. You need two. Just pop the old ones out anf put in the new ones. Dome light in the coupes is 578. Amber LED turn signals 578 and fog lights are 893. You can pick them up at some auto parts stores, or superbrightleds.com.
Something small that goes a long way to helping the car look younger. Also doing LED tail bulbs, LED 3rd brake light, and LEDs to replace the bulbs under the hood, trunk and license plate.

A is a silverstar, the B is an OEM style. Closest "aftermarket" bulb to an OEM original is a Philps Xtreme Vision. The silverstars and bulbs like them get all the love because the regular autostore replacement bulbs are junk and also a very aggressive marketing campaign on Sylvania's part.
Edit: If you absolutely must have the white light, I recommend an OSRAM Night Breaker which still has the blue film but it does not cover the whole bulb. Or go LED. Or a HID projector retrofit is the final solution.
