Haha thank you! I'm just super stoked to get it all painted and together and get some new rims in. And get my interior pieces painted and put in. Speaking of interior pieces, can anyone tell me why this piece won't paint right?? It acts as if it's oily but it's the only one out of all the pieces, I didn't know if it was a different material or something weird, it's the long vent that the defrost comes out of. It looks 10x better, then when I dropped it off. And yea you start getting so stoked when you get paint on it. But this car has a long way to go. Yours is progressing beautifully, just don't rush it. I made that mistake and it cost me. Just a heads up...

Adventure till you drop.

Cool. That's how we did it at the shop. It's impossible to try to eye ball it no guide when your sanding away. Worst thing you could do is paint over it if your already not sure your happy with it. Your paint job is defined by the body work and prep. Another little tip I would have for you, is to stick the bumper back on (carefully as I see you already painted it) and make sure the body line flows from that quarter to the bumper correctly when you go to tape it for a guide. I've seen people spend tons of time working an area like that then find out the lines are off and it looks bad once the car is back together.

Those plastic pcs your painting and having issues with, did you use an adhesion promoter first? Did you scrub them down with dish soap first? Even if they look clean, years of armor all will cause what you are seeing there. Plus if you don't use the adhesion promoter the paint will chip and flake off pretty quickly.

Ya, I did 2 coats and found some things I rushed with priming so I took some 2000 grit sandpaper and corrected my mistakes thank god then did my 3rd coat.

An ya, I've put the bumper on when it was primed an everything lined up good. Where can I get that adhesive stuff?? I didn't use that, I also didn't use dish soap 😐, I didn't think about the armorial honestly, I'll bet that's what that is.

You can get adhesion promoter anywhere you can buy spray paint. It is in a spray can but its a clear substance that is almost like a glue. It basically adheres to the plastic and allows it to take a primer. After that it's like painting anything else.

If I were you, I'd sand what I could with like 1000 grit to start and if that isn't working gradually step to a more course sand paper until you can get most of that stuff off. Then hit it with the soap, let it dry well, then adhesion promoter then primerπŸ‘πŸ»

That's the 2010 GT500 rim. There is an actual 2010 GT500 in our parking lot most days that causes me to drool on my way out lol. Good looking rims for sure.

Yeah Roush wheels are probably my favorites for the SN95 but they are omg hard to get ahold of mint ones and if you can find them they are usually pricey.

New wheels.. Ideas??

Yes, they are. Last week I found them for almost $250 cheaper per wheel than the lowest price from another website. I planned on getting them in about 2 years, but the site did say limited stock. So, I'm just going to buy them now, not willing to risk the wait. Plus I'm saving pretty much a grand on wheels. If you want a link to the wheels I can send it to you...
Which it's for an S197; which you'd know better than I would. If it would fit on a new edge...
My biggest challenge is locating the 427R track pack three gauge and shift light dash pod, and a full 427R track pack suspension...
They're 18 x 10...
Adventure till you drop.
