New wheels.. Ideas??

So I'm getting new wheels since I'm in the process of painting the car now and want it all to look nice and new. I went with a purple paint job, I'll post a picture of the hood so you get a feel of the color. But I want some unique wheels, something you don't normally see on a mustang but will look nice. I want some 18's still, preferably black with white accents or chrome. Any ideas?? Click image for larger version

Those would look pretty sick. Maybe a little more chrome and a little less black for me.

Thanks ubnbit, do you or anyone else that reads this, have any thoughts on 2.5" hub centric wheels pacers?? The offset on the rim in +40 an I wanted a wider stance so to counteract the offset and get wider id need 2.5" spacers. Has anyone done this or have any concerns??

Well, sorry man I forgot mention. These wheels are pretty pricey. So I don't know if you have a limit on what you want to spend. They're forged aluminum, we've got them on our Porsche...

They may have been used, I just took a look at one site real quick. Even that is a lot more than I have to spend on rims, unfortunately 😒

New wheels.. Ideas??

Those wheels you posted darvis are pretty close to mine if you wanna check them at American muscle. They have chrome, machined, and black versions. And they'll prolly always be my favorite wheels on a stang

An I am a fan of the FR500 rims, but I'm trying to go with something very rarely seen on a mustang.

Those I have are 2010 GT500 style rims, didn't cost me much either.

Other than those. Vossen wheels are the only other type of rim I would go with. If you want rare and stand out, here are a few pics of them. They do cost a pretty penny though.

Spacers are an OK for some people. My 97 cobra had a staggered setup with 9's in the front and 11's in the back. I can't lie, it was completely sick. I miss that car. I'd rather see a wider tire than a narrow tire spaced out.

I was wrong when I put that anyhow. I didn't realize my wheels now already have a 35mm offset. I was thinking I was at 0 for some reason and would need spacers. If I get spacers it would only be a 1". But I agree, I'd like a wider tire as well.

Dayves, that is a beautiful shade of purple! My phone finally showed the picture; it's been giving me issues on the forum lately. What is that color called? And is the whole car already painted? I'd love to see it on a new edge...

I never had until now. I really like their booster series, they look really nice. And the car isn't done unfortunately, I have both bumpers, side louvers, side skirts and hood done. Car is getting painted tomorrow 😁. Click image for larger version

Here's the rear bumper. The pictures honestly don't do the color justice by any means. In person it's a bit darker, and shows the metallic ALOT better. It blows me away in person honestly. I was skeptical at first but am very very pleased. And the color is called "purple passion". The first picture of the hood shows the color better.

I've thought about white wheels, my only concern with that is that I have a silver paint picked out to do for my accents on the car so I didn't think purple with silver and white rims would look good??

ID:	185275 can you guys see that i cut and welded a hole in there?? It was difficult because it was on the curve and angled at the same time. I can slightly tell where I did it because I know it's there, but I wanted your guys opinions on if it was real noticeable. I'm still pleased either way considering I'd never done much body work before, especially like that.

I can tell the body line looks a little off, and it looks like it has a sharper edge than the front of that same body line. Not trying to be a jerk, but you asked. Most people probably won't notice but it will be easier to see once it's painted

I understand, body lines completely suck, they're such a pain. But I can tell you, you paint better than I ever will. That's a good job you're doing! My painting skills are meh at best. That's I have someone else do it for me...

I agree. I used to do body work at a shop, so I know that it's not easy to get those complex areas to blend in. But if you still have time to work on it before it goes to paint, you might want to work on it some more. If I were you here is what I would do. Take some masking tape and tape the body line where it needs to be. Top or bottom. But just follow the line how it should be. You can use that as a guide. Since it's not flat, wrap your sand paper around something round that fits the contour well. Then sand to that tape line until it looks right. Then remove the tape and repeat the process to the other side of the body line with the tape. The flat part directly above the wheel should be easier since it's flat. Use a sanding block or a little pc of wood whatever. Once you are satisfied with that remove the tape and gently round out that edge you will have on the body line. Hope this helps.
