Quick question.

My friends owns a 2 valve.
Only thing is done is accel coils and magnapack mufflers.

He wants 315 tires. Will that make him slower?

315 are way too big for such a stock car.. I've got 305 and I'm a lot more modified than that so he needs to at least add some gears first, then a tune

Wider tires on a low hp car does nothing ..

It's understandable if he has traction problems.

True, but he also says it wont make him slow.

I told him wider tires on a stock GT would slow him down.

That's like when you lift a truck and put it on 37" tires you will be slower

But if he's just going for looks like he said the making him slower part is irrelevant

Heavier wheels plus more friction on the road. So yes it will get a little slower. But it will look better

All this **** talk on a stock car with wide tires when almost every bolt on GT has a set of 275's or wider. It won't be that noticeable of a drop in power, it's more noticeable when swapping from a 315 back down to a 245. Tell him to do it if he wants, it's a great look.

I'm not denying it won't look good lol I guess I would just spend the money on performance parts than wider tires

I have 275s, they give me the best traction. I bought them for 70$ both.

315's will not effect anything with performance worth discussing. They will fit right in perfectly lowered or not. Look great. It's ALL GOOOD!
