I Need Help

So my 2000 Gt is at a shop getting a new engine since my old one locked up on me. I have a problem. My old engine has 8 holes for the fly wheel, and the new one ima get has 4 why is this? My stang is stick is there a difference or so?

Your new engine probably has a 6 bolt crankshaft. You will need to get a 6 bolt flywheel to bolt up to it.

Keep your old engine! It most likely has a forged steel crankshaft that you can remove and sell to help offset the cost of your new engine!

I meant to say that if that 8 bolt crankshaft is forged, and is still in good condition, they are worth at least $300.

Whats the difference in the crank shaft? Does it make it more kick ***?

Forged steel cranks are stronger than cast iron crankshafts. A cast crank is good for up to about 600 hp, so unless your plans are to build a "monster", a forged steel crank isn't really necessary.

His 8 bolt GT crankshaft is cast, not forged. Its a Windsor crank. New flywheel will need to be 6 bolts most likely for a 6 bolt crank.
