Anybody know where to get 26 spline input shaft

I can't find anybody who makes a 26 input shaft for the tr-3650. Any have one I can buy or know somewhere that has them any local shops or anything that might have them on shelf? Help a mustang buddy out and let me get my car back on the strip.

Zak didn't have one? Hmmm it might be only available as a gearset and they can't get it individually then...

Just FYI, the stock 10 spline one is good for around 500ft lbs at the flywheel. I mean you are making probably 425-450 to flywheel most likely so you're safe there with the stock internals. No real reason to spend the money on it or a 26 spline clutch if you don't need it. Especially if you still have stock internals which are going to limit how much you can make.

I've been googling and calling nobody seems to have it. I asked cal if he sells them individually and he said he did with the seals and bearings. Nobody seems to have it or make it. I was hoping a local little store near one of y'all might have some on shelf. I guess I could try quarter mile mustang.

Well how many miles are on your 3650? Maybe get a full stock gearset rebuild with bronze pads, the gorilla fork and TSB synchro? Those are good for 600+ and not very hard on the budget as far as transmissions go.

I've got 100,000 miles on it now. And what's the max power level for stock forks and synchro's?

Stock forks and synchros are really beefy but if its an original trans then it won't have the TSB fork and synchro. If it shifts great fine... but at that mileage I would not be putting a 26 spline shaft in it and calling it good. That's getting near rebuild time.

Honestly if its working well just roll with it. No need to fix what isn't broken and it'll hold as much as your motor will make right now. The input shaft is the weak link and like I said that's good for about 500.

Yeah everybody told me to just get the input shaft. Somebody said I'd be safe with slicks since they would absorb shock from launch more.

Well yeah that is true but with the 3650... that's rebuild time for an original trans that needs the TSBs done to it. You've got multiple options from a T45 to another 3650 to a T-56 variant to an A5 to an auto.

I know you take your car to the strip so if you are concerned about times you'll drop some off your ET with a good auto setup.

So I got a 10 spline and sent it in to liberty gear to see if they can respline it to 26 spline then going with stage 3 spec clutch.

Be careful with the "re spline". If they cut the 10 spline section off and weld on a 26... eh... you don't want that but it'll work till about 600ft lbs give or take.

As far as a "stage 3" clutch... For your power level which is about what mine is going to be when I finally get this biotch running, an Exedy 400 will do fine for 500ft lbs at the crank. If you need more than that I'd jump to the McCleod RST.

I heard out of 4 companies one makes the really cheap ones and they break easily but they wouldn't realize which company. But this respline should do me fine. And the clutch was recommended by a tranny builder locally who does the fastest mustang in the state so I trust him.
