My hood has most of the clear coat coming off. Its an eye sore. Anybody know where i can get some fair deals? Also opinions on some hoods as well. My hood is beginning to be an eye sore.

I would start witj junkyards, pick and pulls, and maybe craigslist. Find a nice oem one off of a GT. Unless you want to go aftermarket and get a termi or cowl hood. Cervini makes very good products if you want to check them out.

Yeah thats pricey for a hood to be painted but probably the going rate since paint and clear is so expensive now, at least the good stuff is. Im sure they would have a lot of prep work, and blending to make it look right. Ive never installed a hood but i dont think their very hard looking at mine, just have a second set of hands. Im sure you could find some info on the googles. Some of the aftermarket ones are fiberglass too so maybe a little lighter. Plus a fresh new one primed for paint shouldnt cost you an arm and a leg to have it painted. You could always go the flat black or black painted hood route and do it yourself or have a cheaper paint job done on it also. Your color car would look good with a black hood and some other black accents also.

Just dont plasti dip your hood! Unless done right i guess it would look ok. Can you vinyl a hood? Or does it get too hot? That may be an option. There are shops that do wraps and you could price having yours wrapped?
