its all stock and they want 11,999 for it seems a lil high to me even if it is a collector. kbb says 9000 for excellent condition . it looks great but is it normal to find a car with that low miles and is it worth it in your opinions? i am in the market for a new car but for that price i can get a 05-06gt

Likely it's a garage queen that the guy is willing to sit on until it sells. He will probable eventually get close to it for Someone who wants that exact car without mods and low miles. But I agree for your general buyer I would prefer to have a newer standard gt(plus I like the 05+ models better)

I'd rather have the Bullitt than an 05-09 GT but that's my preference.

If that's the car you want and plan on keeping it, then does it hurt to pay a premium for that? I'm all for getting the best deal but you can't put a price on your enjoyment.

If it's DHG then it would be a good deal.

Agreed 100%. But the buyer just needs to fully understand that 1 if he decides to sell short term it may take a while and 2. If he uses it as a dd and runs the miles up the depreciation will greatly accelerate relative to purchase price.

Keep in mind that a lot of dealers especially smaller ones have service fees in addition to their list price that is outside or tax tags and registration

There were black ones as well. Lots of ppl are not aware that they even came in colors besides the DHG. I'd be the snowflake who'd like the blue one lol.

In this area of CA, that is not an unreasonable asking price for a low mileage, near mint condition, Bullitt... Especially for a dealership of some sort.

With that said, the dealership probably paid the poor guy, who has been lovingly storing that car for nearly 15 years, around $8500 for it. I would offer them $9500, and not go above $10,000. And only if it is, indeed, in near flawless condition...

A TB Bullitt is more rare. But the color itself is more common than DHG since it also came on GTs of different years.

Not sure if I've seen a black bullitt , there are a few green ones here in my city.
Unsure everywhere else.

I looked at a boosted black bullitt for a possible purchase. It was nice but priced high. They are sweet cars, the retro gauges are really cool.

If everything seems under control, you're not going fast enough.

You can't swing a dead cat around these parts without hitting a True Blue Bullitt. They're EVERYWHERE!
As a matter of fact, I have TWO of them sitting in my driveway!

Lol.
For a while, I owned the only two True Blue Bullitts that I had ever seen in person. I have since seen another one, for a total of three.
They are around, you just don't see them very often.

There were 5582 regular production run Bullitts.
DHG 3041
Black 1818
True Blue 723

There were a little over 300 cars that were ordered WITHOUT the Mach 460 stereo, so those cars are rarer than the True Blue Bullitts.
The absolute holy grail of the Bullitts are the "McQueen" cars though. These were given to Steve Mcqueen's family members. There are four of them and they all have a special Bullitt sticker designating them as "McQueen 1","McQueen 2", and so on.

Wow that's cool that Ford did that. I know the GT-H Shelby rerun had a hand full of manual trans cars that were given to the executives of Hertz and maybe Shelby. I forgot how many there are, I think like 10 or less.

Every time the salesman or manager walks away I tell them to take another $500.00 off. As a rule of thumb they list the vehicle for almost twice as much as they paid for it. The last car I bought I was looking at a $9000.00 difference by the time I walked out there was a $5900.00 difference and that included the 3600.00 owed on the truck. Walked away with a brand new car and $130.00 payments for 48months. You just have to take control of the sale and be prepared to walk away. I wouldn't pay more than 8,000 for that bullet is over 10 yrs old.

Haggling like that works for most new cars. But i can guarantee you won't get that Bullitt for $8k. Thats about what i paid for my Bullitt with more than 100k miles tacked on top of what that one has. Even though its a 2001 with the 4.6 2v rather than the 4v it is still a $10k car.

Don't worry, there are more out there to be found.
It doesn't really surprise me about the condition. Private sellers are asking slightly more for "pristine" low mileage examples than that dealer was asking. I actually thought that car was a pretty good deal as long as the condition issues were nothing major.

Your search continues!

Not too far. You should go to some of the shows. There is one I'm going to with my club (Capital Mustang) in Antioch. Going to be huge. Then we are putting on one in either late September or October in the Charmichael/ Citrus Heights area.

We just had one at Sac Raceway not too long ago.
