I saw that picture a while back. I looked high and low on how the guy made it, but he never told anyone. I really want to put one on my car. A lot of people don't like things like this on Mustangs because its "rice". But its actually far from that, done right it adds considerable downforce and stability to the rear end.

If you guys have instagram there is a guy with the username @101blur (his name is Sam), he is making custom diffusers and spoilers for people. And they are pretty badass, he is local to me so i'll ask him if he could do something like this.

I could probably have him mock it up on my car, and if enough are interested get a group buy. I think for a normal diffuser he charges like $285.

I'll subscribe to this thread. Lets see if a few others get interested. The more people are would probably make him more willing to start a new design. Right now i don't think he has any designed for the 99-04 GTs. This looks like it will work with the V6 also.

An example of his car (which I have seen at a track day in person). The diffuser, wing, and splitter was made by him. I believe he uses marine grade plastic. Stronger than ABS

The front on our cars is more tricky. The stock bumpers angle up a little bit so they would actually do more harm than good by pushing the front of the car upward. A really lowered front bumper with a Mach 1 chin may work.

Best set up i've noticed is a 03/04 Cobra bumper since those sit just about flat with the ground. At that point you just have to mount it right and give it support rods. And you do notice the downforce.

With that bumper a splitter would work great. The Mach 1 chin gives you a nice flat surface to mount to. Just need to lower the car a bit and make sure the chin is as level as you can get it (I have coil overs so that helps adjust it until its flat).

It looks like it may built off the gas tank cover from what I can see in the picture. I don't think it's part of the bumper, but I could be wrong.

No it is definitely not part of the bumper. I have friends with similar diffusers but for their Terminator bumpers and they are a bolt on design.

Oh I know I had them on my eclipse before I sold it, but I'm thinking about getting a termi bumper so a bolt on diffuser would be perfect

Well the non stamped ones aren't produced. Those ones have the lettering filled in. It's a grey area. You still keep your badges, but it does say COBRA right on it.

Yes. He just got one from 101blur. Has to modify it a little though since it is for the 13/14 and his is 11/12.

Abcexclusive sells a blank rear cobra bumper, don't know the quality but I think it's worth a look.

Yeah i'm not sure why it isn't out yet. Pete from FTR said he was working on it. Might have to ask him again. Supposedly there is another place in the process of making one right now, been seeing pictures of mock ups from them so it looks promising.

99-04 rear diffuser?

I'd like to know how to make these aftermarket parts.

Making diffusers, hood scoops, louvers, chin spoilers, etc would be a lot of fun.
