Running e85

What are the benefits of running it other than its way cheaper than regular gas?

What's needed to make my 2v run on it?

It's like running 100+ octane gas allowing you to run more agressive timing and stuff like that. For a bolt on 2V it's pretty pointless because it's somewhat expensive to convert to and it won't net you the same gains that you would get if you were boosted.

That I know of you'll need new fuel lines, injectors, and a fuel pump along with a new tune.

It may be cheaper but I am pretty sure your gas mileage gets noticeably worse

You also need to do some fuel system upgrades and it will make 0 difference without a tune. If you are just a bolt on car... Regular pump gas will be cheaper.

Still waiting for E85 around here... probably won't fly because regular gas here in New Joisey is so damn cheap and we have all the refineries and ports right here. I get 87 for $2.41 right now and 93 is $2.79.

There is no E85 in my neck of the woods. I just run standard 87 octane in my Stang since I'm still factory tuned. $2.56/gal currently, and I can see 27mpg with the car beating on it.

Actually I was able to get a no-**** 28mpg on my bolt on 2.5L Contour SVT and that was beating on it pretty regularly. I miss that car... if I was looking for another commuter I'd try to find one of the few remaining good 3L swapped ones as they are getting rarer and rarer.

Only thing was, it actually said in the owner's manual premium fuel was recommended although I probably could have run 87 and let the computer pull timing.
