mustang chipped

potentially buying a black 2000 ford mustang GT from Canada that has this sticker under the hood. The owner says the car is chipped from the previous owner. Any idea of what the sticker in the picture indicates before I call

Dixie Ford is a Ford dealer in Canada. that is probably just their advertisement sticker with contact numbers and such. Nothing on their indicates any mods.

PDI is Pre Delivery Inspection. So this is probably a sticker they put on all their cars around the time they sold this one.

spoke with the owner again, he is not sure if it has a chip or diablo tune but said it has a different tune in it for sure though. Is this a red flag to run away from this car! I would like to modify this car over time and I assume the tune affects how the parts react to the car

If it's a piggy back chip all you have to do is pull it from the computer to go back to stock. The chip should have some info on what company it's from or maybe tuner. There's a lot of write ups online about this and its easy to do.

I would say for an older car that has been tinkered with and tuned, stay away from it unless its almost free. If the last owner is not sure if it's tuned or not, then they are probably not sure what else might have been done to it. You could be getting yourself into a money pit for all you know. Try to find a granny that is selling hers. lol

My friend bought a 240sx from an old lady for $400. That thing was CLEAN! lol

since the tune is unknown, is it possible to just buy a sct tuner and upload a new tune or would I have to get the dealer to flash it back to stock before uploading a new tune or is that even possible.

This sticker is on my 01.
I think that the dealerships put them on to scare the cars owner into believing that the car was so "High Tech" that only the dealership would know how to work on it.
And the phrase "Many parts covered by an emissions warranty" brings, often times, the false hope that whatever is wrong with the car may, possibly, be repaired at no charge.

Idk man. The chances are if it is tuned and modded, then the owner dogged the hell out of it. Just be careful and get it inspected.

A new tune will replace whatever is currently in the computer. The only drawback will be that you won't know if the tuning device will be saving the stock tune or an unknown tune.

$6000 converted from Canadian to American means that he is asking $4800 USD.
If it runs, drives, and looks good, that seems like an alright deal.
Offer $4800 Canadian.

If it is chipped you won't be able to write a tune over that. When I bought my 03 it was chipped from super chips tuning co. and didn't know it. My sct kept running into a error and couldn't write the tune until I removed the chip. Ecu actually started smoking and the car went nuts in the process lol. I would believe you could write over a existing tune but if I remember I was told by someone from bama it would not if it was a "foreign tune" from what they use.
