A stock 2v 5speed can run 14.00 1/4mile times on factory tires. An 02 5speed camaro stock runs 13.70's add cams and u got a 13.10 car. Also the seat of the pants feel is the difference in torque from the much larger displacement of 350 cubic inches in the camaro vs 281 in your mustang

Put it this way. Your car makes about 235 horsepower to the wheels. Right now your friends Camaro makes about 380 horsepower to the wheels.

"Fast" is all opinion. To some people 260 horsepower to the wheels is enough to crap their pants. To others 300 horsepower to the wheels they could do in their sleep.

+1^ when I had my GT I thought it was "quick". It was geared and felt fun to drive. By no means did I think I could take down anything put out by the big 3 in the past 5 years, but I thought I had a fighting chance against most anything else. Now that I own a Corvette, which is still just "quick" by today's standards, it makes me feel kind of foolish thinking that my GT was hot ****. I know that my Corvette will still get beaten by a lot of factory cars, but it has a fighting chance at least.

To me nothing is really fast any more unless they're breaking into the 400+whp range or they have a damn good power to weight ratio (think 2,500lb Civic putting down 300whp). Granted nowadays with factory cars coming out putting down in close to 600whp stock, it's hard to set a standard for what's truly fast anymore.

Your buddy's cammed LS1 Camaro is in a completely different league than your car. If you guys raced he'd win by multiple bus lengths.

That said, 4.6L Mustangs can be fast but they require a power adder whether it is forced induction or nitrous.

Don't get me wrong, a cammed 2V can do low 12s no problem, but the cammed LS1 will still be way faster.

In its time 2vs were decent. Now an Altima won't have difficult pulling on you, unfortunately

Not if you are geared and tuned and can launch properly. Bone stock for bone stock maybe.

I'm bone stock. Going to stay that way maybe gears the soonest.

What exactly do they do? Move the power band? I know how they work just don't see how it will make your quicker if that makes any sense

Makes it much easier for the motor to move the car the hell out. You do have to shift sooner but that's what not sucking at the manual trans is for... or an auto.
