Yeah make sure the shop isn't charging you something like $600 plus parts to do it... Have MPT recal your speedo for the 4.10s. You are the 01 transmission so you likely still have the .68 overdrive which is not as deep as the 02-04 cars but still will be fine with 4.10s, people make way too big a deal about highway RPM because they want to do like 90mph all the time.

Actually motive makes ford gears so it doesn't matter.

Just take it to a shop , they will let you know if you need anything.
If anything you can just install them without anything else , besides gear oil , crush sleeve , and a other part I forgot.

Usual shop install is 200-300

So why do I see so many issues with motive and not frpp? I didn't realize motive made them.

It wasn't the Motives ppl had issues with, it was Richmond. Honestly if the OP was a 02-04 GT with the .62 overdrive I'd say get a set of taller rear tires and run 4.30s. What my plan was with that 98 before I sold it...

Would be a good idea to get the diff rebuild kit and have that done at the same time. The shop i went to didn't charge any extra labor for the diff rebuild.

I rebuilt mine as well while I was in there. I also did the axle tube bearings.

I would go with the FRPP bearing kit rather than the motive, i think the kit you listed from LMR has the GT 500 Pinion bearing and that's what you want.

If i would do it over i would go with that kit or just go to NAPA and buy the bearing separate there is absolutely a difference, you can see and feel the weight difference, even the bearing cage is stronger.

You are going to want to pickup an additional shim kit as well, oh you will need another bottle of RP too.
