MMD Mirrors

MMD Pre-Painted Mustang Mirrors 102259 (99-04 All) - Free Shipping

Those are what I'm talking about.

Who has them?

It says you have to transfer the stock motor from your mirrors, how is that done? (That's the question that's bugging me)

I've already bought them actually. I'm in that awful waiting time for them to arrive! Trying to get everything sorted out, AM doesn't have install instructions posted.

I have the retro mirrors for the s197 and it's the same thing. You just pull the motor out and put it the new mirror. It's no biggie. Mine was like 3 screws. Worst part is removing the glass mirror itself without breaking it so you can access the motor. Again I'm assuming it's pretty similar.

Thanks! Would it help to heat it up somehow?

No there are little clips (at least mine does) you just have to be patient and not yank on it.

Ford isn't helpful. Any guesses if it's glued or clipped?

And another question: how do you remove the speaker?

Remove your old mirrors first
Wedge a small screwdriver between Mach speaker cover and it pops off
To remove motors, pop of the old mirror glass and you will see 3 screws holding the motor to the housing

They arrived today! And as the picture shows, kind of installed...

The "everything needed for install" kit didn't have a way to attach the painted portion to the mirror. I have some 3M tape but probably not enough.

And then I noticed...

Ouch. Glass was cracked, I checked the eBay listing, and it appears to be cracked in a picture there, too. I emailed the seller and mentioned both things, so we will see what happens.

Considering I got these for 1/2 price, I'm really not too upset except for the broken mirror. Regardless, I think they look awesome without the white on yet.

Got a reply from the seller, they are sending me a new mirror and refunded me $25. I'm happy.

I'll pick up a roll or two of the 3M double sided automotive tape at Walmart tonight- unless there's a better tape I need to get?

I can't decide if I like these or not. Definitely not for a 94-98 car but for a 99-04... The NE is all about sharp lines and the stock mirrors are very rounded. These may be going on my list...

Definitely a must on 99-04. I haven't decided what I think of the MMD mirrors for the 05-09s but I haven't really looked at them either.
