Bbk shorty tuned headers install.

Hey guys! Have a question. I have a brand new set of bbk shorty tuned headers from AM. Also have all the gaskets an new hardwear. A direct replacement for my stock manifolds. I was going to install them myself but upon inspection of my exhaust mans, they are veryyyyy rusty, and I don't have the tools or the knowledge to deal with broken bolts. Also just lack tools in general. Wondering if someone could give me an estimate to what a shop should charge me for the install of these given I have all the parts. Just want a ballpark idea for now as I'll probably be checking around soon anyway. Thanks!

I would think probably 2 or 2 and a half hours of labor. My mechanic charges 70.00 dollars an hour and he is a bit high so figure about 150.00 to 200.00.

They may need to drop the K per their shop manual. Going rate around me is $90 for a non-dealer labor rate. Best bet is to call around. Headers in the 4.6L suck a LOT to do with the motor in the car.


Don't be surprised if its a $300+ job on a 4.6L...

I'm saying $300.00 min and make sure they put all the bolts/nuts in some on the passenger side are very difficult to get to

Bbk shorty tuned headers install.

The going rate here is 85-90/hr pending on the shop so I could maybe see 400 for some long tubes but 500 for shorties is rape with no lube, hell hope they wine and dine you first lol

They will need to drop the K for headers in most cases. So that's why it's so much. Not like the pushrod or the Cyclone where they are a 3-4 hour job going slow.
