V6 to v8 swap

Hey guys, Sunday I just recently completed swapping my v6 to an v8. I called bama from American muscle to buy one of their handheld sct tuners to tune the car on 93 and the guy said they don't tune swapped cars. Is this true and if so why not if I swapped everything over from the donor? pcm, ccrm, ecu etc.....

If everything is a V8 as far as the engine, ecu, and everything, then why not tell them you have a V8? lol. Sounds like all you have from the V6 is just the body. Or is something missing here?

The VIN # is all they give a **** about. Insurance people wouldn't know what to think if you told them you have a different engine in it. They don't have any info or automated algorithms to calculate how much he would have to pay. Most people working in insurance wouldn't be able to figure out how to tie their own shoes if they didn't have an instruction manual in front of them lol

Only things that left from the v8 is the body. All cpu, breaks, driveshaft, rear end has been swapped over. He said they were having issue with people doing that so in guessing it's just to protect themselves like a buddy was telling me also. I'm say it's a GT lol

V6 to v8 swap

MPT will do it no problem. Congrats on your swap!!

Like panther said though, give them the VIN off the V8 and the PCM code out of the swapped over PCM and call it a day.

Loving the color. If I get a 2015, it will HAVE to be Competition Orange. I tried for a 2015 5.0 comp orange with the performance pack and manual trans. Go told no

I had a friend that had the 04 anniversary edition that was orange also.

Thanks man! I was jus so attached to it I couldn't let it go lol. After having this bright car I kept getting tickets I was thinking about putting the money down on a 15 or svt cobra but I would have picked a undercover color to much attention with orange and police lol. My girl and I are trying to get our first house so didn't want another car note that was the main reason I did the swap. I'll get another car after I get use to paying a mortgage lol

Give them the VIN that will be displayed underneath the windshield.

Whatever the title on the car says, thats what you insure it as. If you total the car and hand them a title with mis-matched VIN #s you are royally boned. You'd be at fault no matter what and probably will get criminally charged for driving an uninsured vehicle

Yeah something is missing here. The god dam VIN number thats on the car he will be driving.

Everything in my 99 GT is from a 2003 Crown victoria. Should I insure it as a Crown Vic?

If you have swapped over everything, tell the canned tuner you have whatever the donor car was and don't elaborate.

Or just call MPT and don't worry about it. Bama and Steeda do not do swapped cars...
