Aftermarket stereo install nightmare

So I've done a bunch of research but I'm stuck... I have a 2003 GT with the Mach 460 stereo. I bought a pioneer head unit and the Metra 70-5519 wiring harness.

I've connected all matching colors on the larger plug. On the small amp plug, I took the two blue/white wires and spliced those together with the large plug blue/white wire. The RCA plugs are plugged into the back of the stereo. I have two black/white ground amp wires and I don't know where to splice those. Are they to be spliced with the black ground on the large plug?

I tired turning the radio on without the black/white amp ground going to anything and I have a lot of feedback coming from the amps.

Lastly, the small amp plug wouldn't "lock" into the car plug at all. It required me to bypass both the small harness plug and the small amp plug in he car and wire directly together.

Any help is appreciated...

Mine wouldn't lock in either, I just pushed them in as far as they'd go and left it, seems to work fine. The black and white amp grounds can go to the black ground from the receiver (may have multiple here). Anything that is a ground can go together. As for the blue amp wires, they go to the remote power wire on the receiver (it's probably blue, check the manual). Hope that helps

I ended up cutting the wires from the amp plug and wiring directly to the amp plug on the car. The amp does work now BUT I am getting ALOT of feedback. Any ideas?
