Debating muffler change

Right now my exhaust set up is

Longtubes, off road H, flopro single chambers(flowmaster 10 knockoffs) 4" tips..

My mufflers hit my driveshaft sometimes. So I need that fixed but I'm debating switching to SLP LM1's..

Other than being louder, will it be a lot more raspy or will it still carry some tone? I like my sound now. But have heard a few cars with lm1's and seem to like it better..

Will I have any back pressure issues?

Backpressure will never be an issue with any muffler designed for your year car and for your diameter exhaust no matter what brand or cost

You shouldn't have too much backpressure with those. No worse than stock anyways!

However, chambered mufflers are actually flowing better than straight-through mufflers in some cases. The glass packs create turbulence which interrupts flow, so the idea of exhaust going straight through uninterrupted does not happen in them.

I love both mufflers. Though I'm currently running the loudmouth catback. Cats are staying on until I order the Kooks longtubes and Mac Prochamber.

It sounds good now, but it's very tame with the cats. You should get a louder aggressive sound since your O/R. I'd also grab the Slp double walled tips. They are a great looking tip.

Mac flopaths sound really good on mustangs. Especially Cobras lol.

You know that sound your car makes driving in a tunnel/bridge? Chambered mufflers create a similar effect, just on a smaller scale. GOOD chambered mufflers do it even better. And Idk what you guys mean by rasp, but I have always considered that something to avoid.

"Rasp" = Honda civic with open headers
"Growl" = Mac Flowpaths on a mean big block
"bark" = Stock car at high RPM

I like my car to growl (kinda angry) when I am at low speed, and then sound like a pissed off stock car when Im passing yuppies under a bridge

Some like a raspy exhaust, me not so much. A lot of guys around me run an off road x with Loudmouths and it took raspy for my taste, especially at higher rpms. I'd still say it sounds better than a civic with a fart can.

I think with Longtubes and and H pipe instead of the higher flowing x will help with the rasp and give it a deeper tone... I've heard cars in person with just an off road x and flowmaster 10's like mine right now and mine sounds ALOT better because of the headers and H giving it a deeper tone

I'm a lifelong fan of the prochamber. But any run of the mill H still sounds good to me, or at the very least a catted x. It is something that is very subjective. Some people love an off road x. The only setup like that that I actually didn't mind too much was paired with magnaflows.

I'd like to think the prochamber smoothed things out in your case. Mines getting longtubes and a prochamber. To me it's really the only option. How do you like your setup?

I chopped off my 10's and tacked in some slp lm1's and left my tailpipes off because I'm gonna have to do some cutting and weld in more pipe, but OMG with it just stopped after the slp's end it sounds sick!

Still loud as hell but damn, can't wait to get the tailpipes on and it done.. Cams are going in next week and it's gonna sound pretty dsmn mean

This is my setup with longtube headers, o/r x pipe and borla atak catback.
The catback is a bit pricey but its sounds crazy good, it is ridiculously loud when you put the pedal to the metal but the tone sounds soooooooo good in real life its so throaty as you can tell from the downshift video + the 4 inch stainless steel tips look really good too.
Would def recommend this setup.

Robin, is that your Stang in that downshift video? That thing sounds like a cobra backfiring like that.
What longtubes and what kind of xpipe

I have a BBK off road X pipe paired with Magnaflow Magnapacks and i like the sound. Get many compliments and questions of what im running. It does have some rasp but not as bad as the LM1s had when i had them on for like a week or so. I didnt like them with the BBK X which i dont completly love either but it was a price i couldnt pass up at the time. I may like them more with an H pipe or catted X. The Magnapacks have a smooth low idle and tone, then scream when you get on it. Again some rasp but a tolerable amount for me, raspy when down shifting not on acceleration really. I would like to try them with an H pipe but im currently saving for other things before i change the exhaust again. Robin your car looks and sounds amazing, you have done a great job. Its a great example of a new edge.

I vote for the LM2s, they sound good from the ones ive heard in person. Alot like the Magnapack design and sound IMO. I feel like not enough people try the 2s with an o/r X mid pipe.

The Lm1's are a lot better rasp wise with an H pipe and longtubes..

I'm loving it right now but I don't have any pipe at all after the mufflers. Gotta put the tails back on to really see how it will sound

I heard a 2 valve with some SLP LM1s the other day.

It sounded exactly like My 2v does when running with NO cat back on at all.

I don't want to diss on them or make people feel bad, but I do want people to know my opinion on them. Just get a straight piece of pipe and weld it in instead of getting the LM1s. The noise level and tone will be the same, and you can tell everybody you have LM1s because nobody will be able to tell the difference in tone.

I ordered some Mac flowpaths last night because I couldn't sleep knowing I have stock mufflers lol. Im going to weld them into my stock cat back with stock H-pipe when they get here Friday or Saturday (hopefully).

Im shooting for a throaty tone, and just enough volume to not be completely lame lol. If that doesn't satisfy me, ill probably go with a prochamber H pipe
