Called the shop today and he said he stayed a few hours after close and buttoned it all back up. He said he didn't start it up and rolled it by the door and will push it out when I come to get it so I can upload my tune and datalog everything so I can send it back to MPT.

So I will be picking it up Monday!! Had a good long talk with the guy who was actually doing the install and he apologized and it sounded sincere. They only had 3 guys working last week and were short handed and slammed with cars so that's what the hold up was..

All in all am I upset it took so long? Sure. Am I pissed they broke my intake? Yes. But the car is done and I'm hoping runs great..

Also I picked up a new daily so I don't have to daily my "racecar 2v" anymore.. Got me a Passat wagon with a 1.8l turbo

Well I was going to pick it up today.
But my ev1 pig tails didn't match the ev6 injectors so I went to 7 different shops to track down 8 pig tails, got those wired in and I am picking it up tomorrow around 10-11..

They are changing the oil and getting the air out of the cooling system and putting new fluids in..

Hopefully all is well with the car.

A few guys from different shops said the people doing my install do know what they are doing and are known to take a little longer than expected..

So that gives me some peace of mind

Well there is yet another set back.

Got it all in and ran it but the passenger side tensioner isn't plunging so the guide is hitting..

They are pulling it back apart to replace it with a new tensioner..

But good news is, that the time and labor cost it took to install the new timing set I bought before and the labor cost to install the new tensioner is all being refunded and paid for by oriellys for the bad part..

But my sweet Jesus did it sound amazing and lope hard as hell

Nah bud never messed with the trick flow heads for the 2v, I have heard good things about them though.

Only ones I have experience with on a 2v, are the patriot performance ones and they are complete crap.

Bottle time that's what's up lol. It Will be nasty with the bottle and cams.

Well he just got new cams so he'd have to buy TFS cams with the TFS heads... On TFS heads the valves are reversed. Out of the box they outflow even the most hogged out PI heads and its not very close. Then again, OTS Comp NA cams won't exactly be optimal for a power adder either so he'll probably want cams for his power adder of choice when/if he goes that route. I'm going to go with CMS 2.5 blower cams on mine personally.

That said, a good set of MHS Stage 2 or Stage 3 PI heads wills support well over 600rwhp on a built motor. It all depends what you need and you really don't need TFS heads on a power adder car unless you are shooting for over that 600-700hp number and this is what I am going to be doing eventually in all likelihood. Good set of ported PI heads, blower cams, Eddy intake setup and throw 20 psi at it and see what happens lol.

A NA cam of a blower cam works perfectly for nitrous. And that's what his power adder is.

Several places sell ported pi heads as low as 700 each with core. Anderson motorsports did mine and they were flowing 280cfm so they are good for a long while

I keep forgetting he already has nitrous. I was talking more along the lines of a supercharger/turbo. But if he gets TFS heads he'll for sure need new cams.

Maybe Comp cams for TFS heads or the guy was just lying. TFS heads need TFS spec cams. Like I said tho, PI heads are good for a ton of power and they are cheap and cores are everywhere. Even the pro porters basically say "getting TFS heads mean you are looking for 800-900hp+".

Please post links to some of these places because that is half the price of MHS and even MMR. I can get mine done locally by a real good porter for $1500 minus whatever he'll give me for a core. Anderson Motorsports only has ported 3 valve heads on the site and they are $1600 for the pair.

Be careful doing that. Great way to make a paper weight out of some heads.

I would not recommend it. Its not something you can just do and have it come out ok. Unless you have a lot of junk cores to practice on and a flow bench to see how you are progressing...
