Build plans

Okay so I've put a lot of thought into it..

Went back and forth on turbo and supercharger and finally am coming to that the cheapest and best way to reach what my goal is for the car is to just spray the hell out of it..

So I'm calling on rap, and whoever else has a good knowledge of spray..

Car will be "full bolt on" after next week minus head work..

Underdrive pullies, CAI, Longtubes, off road H, catback(without cats lol) BBK throttle body plenum, stage 3 comp cams, forged rods, pistons and rod bolts from mmr, gears, short throw, all the other goodies of that nature..

so as far as spray goes, educate me on what kind of kit would be best, purge kit, window switch..

Man spend the next 6 months learnin and thrashin yer 'new' ride. Get some dyno time, track time, tweak the suspension. Be the best driver of the beast u can before you add hundreds of extra horses of spray and put yourself into a wall

I've got a 689hp truck, I can handle the power.. If I can cut 1.7 60's in my little 2v on motor I think I can handle myself.. But rapinator can you chime in for the nitrous!!

So your further north then, but I miss ole KY lots of good friends there.. I'm hoping the cams give me a noticeable bump in the buttcheek dyno, and then I can see how much spray I want to run

Right next door to ole' bowling green. Going to the corvette track later this month. 😁
You might also talk to speed_mister, I believe he's running a 125 shot on his 2V with good result from what I've heard.

I PMed Rap a few times, he didn't seemed to mind. I had a few questions about the 427R and I got the answers. He didn't seem annoyed by it, or at least that was the impression.

Well your comp 270s are bigger than my crower stage 1 for sure. You have a full 550 lift with a crazy 109/112 lobe separation so your gonna have a crazy idle. Mine is 540/544 112/114 so almost no lope which is what i was going for. Your powerband should be in the 2500-6000 range so perfect for sc or nitrous. Similar to a 302 f cam

Got your message.

First things first how much are you wanting to spray?

If it's 150 and below you can go with the plate kit from nitrous outlet.

If you are wanting a 200+ then things start to get more involved.
I recommend a direct port at this stage. (Go with a system with distribution blocks vs a rail setup)
Also a dedicated fuel system. ( pulling a 200 of the fuel rail is a no no in my book )

Now this applies to both kits

A purge is needed
A quality bottle heater
A window switch
Proper spark plugs
A progressive can be used also and will make it to where you won't need the window switch.

Of course a good tune.

Also if installing your self make sure the fuel solenoid is actually working b4 you go out and spray it. ( this is something I double and triple check every time I install a system )

Nitrous filter
Pressure gauge
Blow down tube

What are some good brands to use?
I've never sprayed any of my vehicles always been sketched about it.. But my 2v has forged guts so I trust it more, plus it's my daily and sees the strip a few times a year. Very seldom do I run it in Mexico but it does happen, I try to stay legal..

So for my goals and where I'm at now "full bolt on" what size would you recommend. I've had some friends that ran 150 shots which I guess isn't that big but he dead hooked every time street or strip and that thing hauled ***

Nitrous outlet or nitrous express for the brand.

And since you have never used it b4. I would start with a 100 shot and work your way up to a 150. Eventually step it up to a 200 and you should be set.

Should I expect a noticeable bump adding the cams and tune?
