Smile Just a heads up about "Magnapack mufflers"

So I LOVED the sound of Magnapacks from all of the videos I watched on YouTube and wanted the same setup for my car. So I did some searching online and everyone said that the Magnaflow part #14416 were the exact same mufflers that come in the Magnapack cat-back system.

Well, I bought part #10416 (The difference between 14416 and 10416 is that the second digit means that the muffler is polished or satin: 14416 Polished and 10416 Satin). I got the mufflers welded in. I have a catted X-pipe and 2.5" running all the way back. After installation, they sound NOTHING like Magnapacks.
You can't hear that distinctive growl that the Magnapacks have. I thought I'd just give everyone a heads up just in case you were wanting to go this route.

Catted X-pipe is your problem. X pipes attenuate the wrong frequency exhaust notes for you to hear as deep of a rumble. go on youtube and type in "X pipe Vs. H pipe" there is a video of a fox body showing the exhaust note difference between a stock H pipe and an aftermarket X pipe.

Same mufflers.

H-pipe sounded like a big block
X-pipe sounded like a V6

That's what I thought too. But if you listen to any videos with part number 10416 or 14416, you'll hear that rumble. There are many Magnapack owners with stock mid pipes that have the rumble.
