Why does he want to trade? Seems kind of surprising that he wants to do that.

Sounds like one of those "too good to be true" deals to me

I think 11.5 lbs of boost is too much for a stock motor isn't it? That was the first thing I thought of.

I broke the motor in my 97 Cobra at 12psi.
I'd run not walk away from this as it's a time bomb just waiting to go off....IMHO
Kind of funny he wants to trade for 03/04 Cobra..........He would have to come up with a briefcase full of cash to get the 5900 mile 03 Terminator sitting in the garage.

Anything over 6 to 8 pounds of boost on a non-forged internals motor is just waiting to go.........

BOOM!

Reasons he doesn't want his car anymore

-Blower destroyed the first tranny after only 5k miles
-Blower will destroy the engine soon
-Blower will also destroy current transmission soon
-Those engines are a PITA with the cam pha$ers when they go
-Blower is going to wear out soon and be expensive
-Car has bugs because build wasn't 100% perfect
-Car will always have bugs

Used cars with superchargers are a bad deal. Avoid them and do your own build if you don't rely on your car for transportation, or are actually just extremely good at self control. Otherwise you will get into boost every time you drive it and the thing will break a Lot.

Don't care what anybody says. More power = more stress on everything = everything breaks sooner. Can't get around basic laws like that very easily.

Id keep the power within 20% of stock on most cars, or you're sacrificing reliability of a lot of things. Gotta do a nice beefy build.

Fast, reliable, cheap. Pick 2, because you aren't getting all 3 without an LS1.

I've got the 03 in the garage right next to the black car in the picture...now there is not more room for the 14.....so I think I can see the hand writing on the wall.

If the motor is built correctly it will last for a very long time.........I've had N/A (single carb'd) motors making over 1.6 HP per cubic inch last 5 seasons of drag racing.......and when I took the motor apart it looked well worn...but nothing ever broke.....ever! Granted this wasn't a fast car as it only ran 9.8's....Oh yes, and with a 2 bolt main OE block..........go figure. The picture shows the head I took of the motor just for a refresh....after 5 race seasons of being on the car. If you want I can send more pictures when I tore it apart...............
All you need are good parts, a good machine shop and someone who knows his way around a DOHC motor and you go out and make your 700RWHP............as long as the rest of the chassis is put together as well.........IMHO

I'm reading that ad as, the guy wants to sell (For a unspecified amount), or possibly trade for a 99-04 GT, or a ragged out Terminator, plus he wants some cash. Not a straight across trade.
It's common sense that if you increase the power, and use that extra power, things can and will break. Like transmissions.... And engines.
Without knowing the asking price, nor the miles on the stock engine, it's hard to tell if it is a good deal or not.
