Ready to mod and refresh the mustang!!

Ok I've gotten to the point where little squeaks and leeks are bothering me so why not just start re-doing and modding little by little .
•I want to add more power without supercharger nor turbo.

• I want to get new springs (just got new struts and shocks but probly will get new ones again)

• wanting to get gears. Your opinions on 3.73 vs 4:10 which one is better ?

• what tuner is good to get ?

I'm wanting to do all of this and ready to start little by little bringing the mustang back to a good new feeling .
So any opinions will help thanks .

Ready to mod and refresh the mustang!!

Power:Nitrous is your answer.. Make sure your tuned to not push your rods limits unless you want to get forged internals(like me)

Springs: I have steeda 1.5" lowering springs love them!

Tuner: SCT x4 and an MPT tune

Gears: go with 4.10's. Mpg isn't that different between the two but acceleration is night and day difference. I went with 3.73 and regret it

Okay yeah I'm trying to stay away from nitrous . Little stuff like throttle body and plenum cold air and I want a cam but don't know for sure which one to get for a stock engine .

And for the 4.10s it's better to just get the kit and use the tuner to fix the speedo right ?

Also many stage "1-2" cams can be used on stock motors, need to get them degreed correctly, new valve springs, and a tune.

Cushman Stage 1 NA cams if you don't want to replace your stock valvesprings, Stage 2 is better tho.

And 4.10s all the way especially if you have an 02-04 car because they got deeper overdrives. Plenum and TB are minimal gains but if you do get them get the TFS plenum from LRS and the 75mm TB from Summit.

Besides that... mid pipe, catback and suspension. There isn't exactly that much to be done bolt on power wise to these 2Vs that actually does anything. I'd say half the stuff ppl bolt onto these cars don't do anything.

Would 75mm be to big for a basically stock motor ? Or would the tune help out .
And have you heard the crushman stage 1 cams ? An can they add any power with a tune ?

I know you said your not interested in a boosted application, but I can tell you from experience you will enjoy it. You should make a list of items you want to install to get you to your goal and also do a separate list for a boosted application and look at price vs horse power etc... A new edge around 400 whp is a fun ride 😉

Stage 2 cams a good tune and all the bolt ons will get you into the 285-300whp range. 75mm is the size tb you should get, get 24 lb injectors if you do cams. I'd add nitrous at the end for track days.

Trust me I love being in supercharged/turbo stangs. But this is my first one and it's actually still under 100,000 2002. Gt and it's in really good shape . So I'm really just aiming to basically refurbish/upgrade what's already there and add some power with a nice sound to it .
😁
