Help!

About 5mins ago I made a u-turn and heard a snap, crackle and pop and my exhaust got 5x louder. So I turned into a racetrac gas station to diagnose the problem and majority of the sound was coming from the header. I drove around a little just to see and my gas gauge was literally moving every time i checked. Could someone tell me if my diagnosis was correct or not and how do I go about getting this issue fixed? Thanks!

I'm assuming I have a cracked header or something along those lines

Quick question, if it's eating through gas by the day is that an exhaust leak or do cracked headers/ open flange do that? I noticed it but wasn't paying much attention and I had to get gas so I put 10$ which got me to half tank and I drove around and ran some errands and not even a full 5 hours but I'm a little above E (in my defense I was driving pretty hard) but it never did this when all was well.

well, at 15mpg, 10 bucks should get you maybe 75 miles. (1.99 a gallon)

i have no idea how many miles are involved in 5 hours of errands, but around town, 75 miles can add up pretty quick. but do you have a check engine light? if you get a bad reading from your 02 sensors, that can ruin your gas mileage. and if its down to 13mpg, then 10 bucks worth of gas might get you 60 to 65 miles.

Nope no check engine light. Normally I drive hard and have a lead foot and I can do that with no noticeable changes in my gas. Now not only is it obnoxiously loud, a 20min drive will cause the needle to move significant, when normally that same 20min drive never did a thing to my gas. You know what I mean?

I haven't thought or look into that, thanks. But I found a vid on YouTube that was spot on to what I'm experiencing https://youtu.be/CtK75-HWeHE and he is saying it's an exhaust leak so I've been just kinda rolling with that ya know.

And most of the noise is definitely 100% coming from the flange/ header area, nothing to the rear of the car whatsoever

ID:	191984 unfortunately it was the header but it's not running me too much to get her fixed and while I'm here I'm dumping the exhaust, because as much as I hated how there was no tone to it while it was broken I honestly loved how obnoxiously loud it was. But it's temporary until the catback comes in which will be soon hopefully. Thanks for the help y'all
