eBay headlights

I just bought a set of eBay headlights and not three days and one of the lights is filled with water. I'm sending them back for a replacement set but want to know what can I do to better seal the new lights to prevent moisture from getting inside?

Is there a specific place I should put clear silicone?

You seal all the joints where the lens meets the housing and hope that gets it.

Welcome to the wonderful world of aftermarket and especially ebay headlights. If you are a 99-04 then the only cheap ones you should get are the AM/LRS replacements or spend the money for the 01-04 smoked OEM units.

If you are a 94-98 then the DEPO projectors all the way.

Can you let us know the seller you bought it from so we can avoid that?

^ Agreed. Been down that road before. The money saved isn't worth the condensation that never comes out of those stupid things. Even after siliconing the hell out of them water finds it's way in.

Yep. The AM/LRS knock offs are ok, Raxiom is ok if you make sure you seal them yourself when you get them. DEPO usually makes good stuff too and they use ATOMIC sealant but those are the only ones I'd buy besides OEM.

Amazon lights are also crap, btw. I sealed them, but tint is already peeling after about 2500 miles. Like most parts on these cars... spend the extra money and do it right the first time...

I have a question on this as well.. What about the headlights with the clear turn signal housings ?? Only place I can really find them is ebay, and I really want a set with the clear turn signals I think they look great on the new edge.. so I'm guessing the $70 bucks they cost is not really worth it even though they are so cheap?? Is there other places to get these ??

The DEPO clear corners are sealed well but clear corners never fit right in my experience. I left the OEM ambers on mine. You can see misalignment on just about any aftermarket corner lens unfortunately.
