Filler Neck Hose?

Hey everyone,

I have a code for a small EVAP (I think it is EVAP) leak, where a lot of the times it could be the gas cap.

I was pumping gas today and noticed it leaking so I thought it was the filler neck tube/pipe. I got home and took a look near that area and I saw a hose completely disconnected!

I couldn't take any good pictures but I found this on a youtube video.

The hose I am talking about is the hose closest in the picture with the weird, thicker ending that is a little dirty.

What is this hose?
Can I just reconnect this after it has fallen off? Or has it most likely broken off?
Would this be giving me my code?
Would this make my car run like crap?

Thanks for the help guys, sorry for the crappy picture references....

Doesn't this cause a vacuum leak while it is doing a test of the evap system?

So I got underneath it tonight and looked, sure enough it rusted and snapped off completely.

Is it safe to drive with this disconnected?!
Anyone recommend the best place for a replacement on a budget?
Anyone have one on here?

Thanks for the help guys!

Many emissions codes will not cause any noticeable driveability problems. That hose not being connected happens to be one of the emissions problems that CAN cause driveability problems, such as stalling and poor idle.

You can try looking around in a wrecking yard for a replacement filler neck.

Ya I got my replacement out of a junkyard for 5 bucks since it was rusted as well. Took a wire brush to it and epoxy and aluminum tape and its totally sealed from the elements. I parked mine since its not a dd. I would not recommend driving with neck broken off. Hit up a jy. Even if they have one in bad shape u can patch it up like I did rather than paying 200 bucks for a new part

Rockauto has the whole neck for $101.79
But check ebay and if your willing to go to a pull a part junk yard and pull the part yourself it will be the cheapest.
