Exclamation Need some advice.

This upcoming Monday, I'm picking up a 97' Mustang GT 5 Speed. It has the 4.6. It has, cold air intake, & two MSD coil packs. The cars been sitting a while but still runs and drives great. Drove it the other day. But I did notice, that the car is starting to smoke on startup, and if idled for very long, it will smoke. As soon as I get it, I'm changing the spark plugs, oil, & oil filter. Should I change the coil packs? Should I change the wiring gauge as well? Need some advice on what all to do to my mustang since its been sitting for a minute. Thank you.

I have an obd scanner. I don't have anything to test the compression. It's hasn't really been sitting. He drives it like once a week maybe?

The smoke you are seeing on first startup or long periods of idle are most likely the valve guides, or valve guide seals. A compression test will verify this as to rings or seals.
