Time for new filter?

I've had my car for a little over a year, and I've never bothered changing it, it's all nasty and dirty, surprisingly the car pulls pretty good, but in going to be getting a new filter, don't really care for performance and I don't want to spend more than $100, darn school books and classes, they have $250 cold air intakes, but does that really make anymore of difference vs the kn drop in? I was looking at the sr intake but that goes into the fender well and I have heard bad thing about that. Specially in Florida with the rain and mud. Opinions and personal experience please looking to get something today. Thanks!

If you have stock intake just replace the filter and save money for something else.

not really. No one i have talked to who switched to one noticed anything more than the power increase of just changing the old filter to begin with. lets more crap in, which is another huge argument among people also. i used a k&n cone. no big change. maybe if you race and have a tune. but not stock.

Nothing new. Replace with oem or fram air filter and call it a day.

I used the K&N drop in filter. Didn't really notice much. I don't think it lets more crap in. I just upgraded from a 70mm TB to a 75mm and when I pulled the old one off it still looked new. There was a light oil film in it from the pcv, but there wasn't anything else. The benefit from the K&N is you can potentially save money vs buying a paper filter every so often. I just changed my TB, injectors and put in a JLT intake today. Stay away from eBay or SR CAI's. They don't do anything and will rust and heat soak.

Buy the K&N if you want a filter you can clean and reuse. Otherwise just get a replacement filter from an auto parts store and save the money.

I have a kn and a stock intake. No issues with it but no improvements to be had either. I had a SR intake and it was junk, took it off and put the stock back on. Initially the SR seems ok, but it rusted quickly, and i dont drive mine in any bad weather.

If it's a cold air intake that actually goes in the fender then it's okay but the stock intake is just fine...

eBay kits are okay I guess I've had one before but stick to in the fender ones

Nice man. Anything is better then paper filters. Simply due to being able to clean re oiland re-use them. You end up saving money in the long run

The joy of the K&N drop-in is you only have to buy it once... lifetime warranty
