SCT 2 tuner - noob questions

I bought my car used and it came with a tuner. Apparently the guy took the car to me tuned by a shop when he installed the supercharger.

I hear you can buy tunes online and download them to the tuner. I didn't get any CD's or anything with the tuner. How does that work.

Is it as easy as contacting an email tuner, telling them what I have and they can email me the tune?

Am I still able to use my tuner or is it junk at this point?

Shouldn't be junk. Call the vendor SCT and they might be able to provide you with the software for that device. Then once you have that set up, see what tuners they recommend.

The custom tune should be on the tuner that came with car. I had mine tuned when i got my supercharger and part of the price of the tune is paying for the tuner for them to put the tune on. Why would you want a canned tune if it was tuned for you setup?

He doesn't want a canned tune. He wants an emailed tune.

He already said it was tuned when the supercharger was installed. If he adds any changes then he would need to have the tune that he already has on the tuner adjusted for his changes and saved by the person who tuned the car. Getting a tune emailed and loaded to his car will not do it any justice.

Why? As long as he knows the mod list he can get a new tune from a tuner he trusts. Who is to say that the tune on the car is a good one?

Exactly. He can go to a tuner and have them dyno/tune it. He said it has a supercharger on it so as far as i know most places aren't going to email you a tune if it is supercharged. He was asking if he can get tunes emailed to him like AM does.

Tuning by James, he will remotely tune almost anything including sc mustangs. He will data log back and forth until he gets it right. He is cheaper than a dyno tune, he uses the SCT tuner software also. May be worth shooting him an email to see what he thinks. He will get back to you, takes a couple days as he does do in person dyno tuning as well in Florida. Real good guy and comes with high credentials. He used to be part of SCT, and still has a good relationship with them. Look him up Tuningbyjames.com.

Most top email tuners will still email you a supercharger tune.

My car is tuned for the supercharger however i wasn't the one who did it. I bought the car already done.

I wonder if it's only a mild tune since the guy drive the car to work a lot etc.

Since it's not my daily driver, I'd like to get an aggressive tune to put out a few more horses...
