New wheels

Okay I'm gonna be ordering new wheels in the next few weeks . I want to get 18s all around with a staggerd look so 18x9 in front and 18x10.5 in rear .
Should this mess with the speedo at all ? And how wide can I go in the back with no rubbing . What's the safest way to go thanks .
Thinking on the rovos or the SVE series 3 . Any help would be appreciated . Thanks guys

you need to get low profile tires to match the wheel base of the 17 inch stock rims (16 if v6)
i cant remember what size though. I almost picked up stock 18's from a 2006 gt, so i had looked into this before. otherwise, you can go with a bigger wheelbase, but you will need a tuner or something to correct the speedo. as far as width, should be able to go pretty wide. worst case, you may need a spacer to push you rim outward. sorry i couldn't provide numbers. but i feel like you wanna stick with the reccommended width for the 10.5 in the rear. the fronts really the one to worry about but 9s should be fine.

You will have no problem getting a 10.5 out rear. Stick with 9 in the front and you will be golden. Speedo will be off, not by a whole lot with the 18. As long as you keep the overall tire height as close as possible. Though a handheld tuner can correct the speedo, and provides numerous other benifits and features.

on tirerack, they recommend 245/40/18 in the front and 275/35/18 in the rear.
You should be able to stretch something wider on the rear though. but the fronts, i would try to stick with 245/40/18 and that should keep the same wheel base (close enough anyway)

in case you werent sure, the middle number is a percentage of the first number. 245mm wide, the height from the rim to the edge is 40% of the 245mm. and 18 is the rim diameter.
so make sure if you want wider, do not go with 295/35/18. that will be a taller tire.

Ok so I have 17s with 10.5 in the back and I am running 285 ? I'm really wanting to run at least the same or bigger in the rear ? Should I be okay with 305 in the rear ?

should be quite awesome with 305 in the rear. I think i can put 305's on my 8 inch rims.

bear in mind, CAN doesnt mean SHOULD. but with 10.5 that should be a breeze. double check with others who have done this, i dont know how it would look on the rims. Mine would look bulged i believe.

There is tire charts that will show you outside tire dimensions. Am will help if you call them also. As long as the outside diameter of your new wheels is the same as your old tires outside diameter it won't mess your speedo up...
