signal or blinker switchs off when turning the steerin wheel

Hi, I've lived with this for a while and was wondering if I need a Turn signal/Windshield wiper assembly so the blinkers or signal arm will stay in place. Sometimes when I turn the wheel and the blinker is on it'll shut off. I'm wondering if the turn signal assembly is shot. Thanks.

Yes. The part that automatically cancels the turn signal, once you start to turn the steering wheel in the opposite direction of the turn signal, is either broken or worn out.

Thanks so much for replying. That's what I figured, It's probably worn. But I wanted to get a second opinion. Like I said, Thank you.

Sounds like it's working normally to me.

I think that what Sue is referring to is, when she turns the wheel in the direction of the turn signal, the turn signal is cancelling.
The signal should stay engaged if the steering wheel is turned in the direction of the turn signal. It should only cancel if the steering wheel is turned in the opposite direction of the turn signal.
