4:10s?

I am currently thinking about putting new gears in my 2004 Mustang GT to wake it up. I'll most likely get 4:10s or 3:73. What should I expect on the doing around 70 on the highway and 55 down the country roads.

Auto or manual. Normally recommend 4.10 for auto and 3.73 for manual.

With that said I really like gear and have 4.10's in 2 of my cars.

I have an auto and wish I had gone 4.10. 3.73s are better than stock, but the extra pep would be nice with the 4.10s. The overdrive of the auto is enough you won't suffer too much in gas mileage.

Not that big of a difference only like 200 rpm difference but if you drive a lot of freeway don't get 4.10s

4.10s with a 26" tire and the .62 overdrive ratio will do 2300rpm at 70mph, and 1800 at 55mph in 5th also.

Go 410!! in overdrive you will be ok, around 2300 with your car. Dont let a couple hundred rpm dictate the performance feel and advantage of the 410s. Many on here have gone 373 and wished they had done 410s. If doing it make it worth while IMO

4.10s. If you are worried about a few hundred RPM on the highway go buy a Prius.

The 02-04 manuals had a .62 overdrive, Soccer's numbers are accurate. You can also jump up to a 26.7 or even 27" tire if you aren't lowered too much and get an even lower highway RPM. Plus it fills up your wheel wells. I ran a 275/40/18 on a 18x10 on my blue 98 which is a 26.7" tall tire.
