I tried getting the current owner to trade me his IRS for my SRA. He didn't go for that unfortunately

It was a long-shot, but you never know until you ask. Now that you have planted the thought of a trade into the other guy's head he may consider something.

Yeah he might come around. But the car is different enough that he might just stick with the IRS. Really I just want his catback, the 4 10s that the car has would be too much for a turbo.

I need to adjust my rear coilovers. Scrubbed real bad going through Denver this morning on I25.

Did you cut the tires at all? I25 isn't exactly the smoothest road out there

Ya, left rear did this morning when I got stuck slightly backing out of a steep driveway. Rear tires cambered in real tight and carved up the outer tread block a bit. But I'll be good to get home and have road hazard take care of it. Also going to get the rear adjusted before I leave work.

No just raise it a half inch or so. Rolling fenders wouldn't do much I don't think.

You must have bottomed out hard to scrub at that height. Rolling the fenders will stop the cutting but not the rubbing.

Got the motor pulled apart for the most part. I was surprised to see that cylinder 6 cracked as well. No damage was done to the head thankfully and the cylinder bore doesn't have any scratches. I borrowed a bore gauge and micrometer to measure my bore. Results are in the picture and I'm quite happy with it. Stock displacement is 3.552" for those who don't know.

You sure are hard on the equipment JDF!

You may be able to get away with just honing the cylinders.
How many miles are on that engine?

I'm not really caught up with what's new. Are you building up the internals? Haha yeah I bet he didn't want to trade you the IRS either. I wouldn't have either lol.

No cracks in the sleeves, just the top of the pistons.

Yeahh this time around I'll try to be a bit nicer to it.

I'm sure I will be fine with just a hone. The motor had 44k miles on it.

Yeah I'm gonna swap in Boss rods and Manley pistons along with an On 3 turbo.

I figured trading rear ends was a long shot, but it was worth it.

Well, he has to start somewhere with the price.

Hey, did you you see the yellow Cobra for sale in Morrison? It has a silver orb thingy, the k-member, and everything else that you want to do. You could strip off what you want, and then part out the rest.

I don't know what the differences are with the 4V kit. It would almost be worth it but I do think have the space to strip another car

There is a little wiring for the 4v cop, other than that if you are swapping everything over together it should be mostly plug n play from what I understand.

Possible custom fitting for the the intercooler, oil lines if you didn't have to have them for the vortec, headers won't work and you may need a custom down pipe. Cobra, mach 1 or another intake manifold such as the Sullivan piece.
