I noticed that when my car is cold its not as loud but after I've been driving for a little bit and everything is hot it sounds much louder at idle with the clutch in or out

Was this a new transmission? What you are describing could be an input shaft bearing. If the trans is a used one it very well could be something internal to the trans. Input shaft bearing fits the description you are giving as well as a pilot bearing. The TOB will not make noise after the clutch stops moving with the pedal pressed to the floor because with the pedal all the way down the clutch is disengaged.

Plus why would it start making noise right when I do a new clutch that doesn't make sense. And input shaft bearing usually don't make noise with the clutch in mine gets louder with the clutch in

If it wasn't making noise before the clutch and its making noise now... something is wrong in there. Your buddy screwed up the install or there was a bad part. Noise like that is not normal. I'm not trying to sound like an *** or anything but it is what it is. Proper install with good parts will make no noise.

Also the fact that an adjustable cable was used vs OEM or Max Motorsports (improved OEM) raises a red flag about the knowledge of the installer if he was the one who recommended it.

Yeah but that's something the installer should have brought to your attention. I know whenever I see someone buy one or mention they have a non-OEM cable I immediately recommend trashing it and installing a MM cable.
