I have a 2000 3.7L mustang and it goes in reverse and drive just fine but when I put it in drive and hit the gas it just reves up but don't go nowhere in 1st 2nd or drive.

Your transmission is slipping, like it's in neutral.. it's not giving the right signal to your engine, your motor still runs like it should that's why it's revving ,but your trans is "stuck" and will likely need rebuilt soon idk how the trans is on the v6 so you'll probably get more help in the v6 section of the forum and someone can help you out on what to do for now.. You may be able to manually put it back in by messin with the trans but I'm not sure, defiantly gonna have to be rebuilt soon though I would think

Wrong section ..

It's going to be a torque convertor / transmission issue.

Take it to a transmission shop , and have them diagnosis it further ..

Might as well pull one from a junkyard .. plenty of V6 mustangs out there for sure. Or get a used transmission setup from LKQ
