Dude is trying to get just that little bit extra. Some ppl don't realize that there is a point where its not worth it anymore but being in the situation where I have a bottom number in my head I can sympathize.

Yeah I would be the same way. Looks like he started much higher in the begining. He started at 6500 and has gone down obviosuly. He has 10k invested so he is losing money, but thats cars for you. He bought it in 2011 for 8k, and with maintenance, repairs etc hes at 10k. Ill contact him tomorrow with my offer.

That's a real good deal for $6500 honestly, if it was a stick shift he would have gotten that price all day. People just get stupid when they don't see the "man pedal" in a car.

Update.....I bought the car today. Have the keys, title, and paperwork, still have to pick it up in the next couple days. Couldnt get it home yet with another driver just didnt work out, may be until Saturday! The dude ended up having the brakes redone at a shop so that makes no issues that I know of now with it. He had new front calipers put on, rotors, and pads all around. The front calipers were the culprit, they were sticking. He sunk $620 more bucks in it, kept the price the same for me. He had another guy waiting to come buy it if I didnt for more money, but he gave me first crack at it since I was first. Anyway, I have it now, lets hope its not a piece! !

edit: Also, if you have a later build date like a 2004 CY build date check to see if you might have got lucky and got the 4R75w.

Whats the best way to reference the build date? Or will the build date be on my drivers door jamb like my 96 is I assume. Ill check it out first thing when I get it picked up. Ill hopefully have the heater going and be cleaning it up Saturday.

I just checked the carfax and title, it was sold by the dealer in Sept 03 so I would assume it was an earlier model...but I will check when I have it here.

Im a little intimidated by the Jmod but if I watch the video enough it probably isnt that bad of a job. Just have to get some jack stands, or ramps.

Nice, I one day aspire to actually keep one long enough to have 2 lol. Well... 2 that actually both run haha.

Also, if you want to check to see if you have a 4R75w for giggles, look at the driver's side of the trans. See that yellow plastic plug in the dead center? If it has that its a 75w, if its just metal there then its a 70w.

Now time to get a better set of wheels on her.

Thanks I will check it out. Wheels, lowering springs (prob h&r supersports, maybe Tein- anyone have any experience with them?), mid pipe, mach 1 chin, mach 1 grill delete, tuner will be it for this coming season. But thats what I enjoy, adding something new every season, damn family takes all my funds. Have to recover from buying this car for a while, lol.

Thought I would add some pics, still not detailed (been close to 0 everyday recently with the wind chill and no heated garage here) but I did spray it down very quickly to get all the bird crap, and heavier grime off of it. The car was clean, but not clean if that makes sense, lol. It was covered in his garage for 5 yrs but it still ended up grimy in all the nooks and crannies. It sat outside for about 4 weeks when I bought it because his garage was full of his crap from packing to move. Anyway....
Hopefully one day I can turn this into a "build thread", if and when I get some parts.

Yeah. His is pretty nice. Makes roughly 440 to the rear wheels with the procharger installed. 12.69 @ 115 is his best track time with no traction.

Wow lol yeah he needs to make that thing hook. I've seen bolt on NA 2Vs with cam swaps run half a second faster than that.

That's my goal for this thing. Mine has the original Steeda suspension on it which is full control arms, lowering/shocks/struts etc... Probably will hook half decently.

Your car being an auto will be a lot easier at the track. Hell, if you cam that thing and throw a converter at it that's a low 12 second car all day with suspension.

Thats probably realistically what my plan will be in the future with this thing. Still havent heard back on heads from Craigslist, called, emailed a couple times and response yet. But I will find something that will work at the right time to acheive that for now it will be suspension, exhuast, some bolt ons, wheels, tires, tune, then gears probably next season. And also some appearance this year but not a ton.

Nothing cool, but we had a 50 degree day here in the end of Jan (un heard of really), and I did some further cleaning. Its shining up nicely so far. Find more blemishes though when you start detailing, overall Im happy with it for the price.
