The steeda emblem was on there from the original owner, I just never took it off, it's different so I left it lol

I'm the 2nd owner. It had ALOT of steeda parts on it when I first got it. CAI, Pullies, short throw and a lot of suspension parts all steeda stuff.

So with that I haven't really broke it in and I know the first few miles and hours of running are important but with the start up and break in.

So what should I do from here?

I've gotta do a few more datalogs to get the tune lined out, but then I was planning on driving it on the street, never at constant speed, not above 3500rpm but would keep the rpms fluctuating and pull it semi hard in the low rpms, after doing that for 100-200 miles, change the oil, run conventional oil and drive it a little harder still not redlining it but still pulling thru gears. After another 500 or so miles of that change the oil again, run synthetic like I normally would and drive it like hell lol not stupidly but get in it more and make some strong pulls.

Does that sound fine?

What a job you did. Outstanding. Thanks for sharing it with all of us - and what a beauty of a car. Glad you found your fluctuating RPM and it was a simple fix. You'll have to do another video once she is all broken in and let us see you drive her hard! Have you named her?

I pulled the old IAC so I could clean it just to see if that fixes the issue while I'm waiting to get the new motorcraft IAC. It had a lot of carbon built up in there, took bunch of q-tips and starting fluid and just went to town. I made sure I always had the electrical end of it facing up so none of the fluid would get in there but I cleaned it up a whole lot better gonna let it dry out for awhile and then put it back on and see how it idles then.

I heard starting fluid and carb cleaner isn't the best and to use throttle body cleaner so it doesn't damage anything but I figured if I'm buying a new one anyway what do I have to loseClick image for larger version

Cleaned the IAC and I started up, idled at 1200-1300 for a few seconds then dropped down to 850-900 and stayed there smoothly

So I think I fixed the issue for now, just gonna wait for the new one to come in and put that on in a few weeks

Ran into another issue today with the car.

I got it insured so that's a good thing, hopefully going to drive it to get inspected tomorrow.

But I drove it thru town to get some fuel and about 1$ into pumping it spit the gas right back out.

So when I deleted the EVAP I must have not vented it correctly. So I need help ASAP!!

Got the brakes and power steering issues fixed, also got her inspected lol which is kind of a joke with the missing emissions stuff but oh well.

The EVAP delete was done right, I vented it correctly but one of the hoses I used to goto the filler neck is pinched so it's not letting the tank vent

Got the pinched hose fixed, dropped the tank and just bought a longer hose and had to use a little creativity and got her done, was able to fill the tank easily!

I've read a little on it and I've seen mixed reviews.

But this damn car, I know it's little things but ughhh.

So a few days ago i had that IAC issue. when driving it would idle really high, like 1800-2200rpm and then drop to normal and back to 1800-2200. As it was idling that high it would make a strange sound from then CAI filter. When I would come to a red light and put the car on neutral and roll to the light it wouldn't drop down to idle either it stayed in the 1800-2200.

So I pulled then IAC, cleaned it really good and put it back on.

It seemed to have fixed the problem until today.

After about 15-20 minutes of driving I was at a light and the car was at 2200rpm and was making that sound. I even put it in gear to leave the light and since it was at 2200 I didn't even put my foot on the gas and the car went on its on at that constant rpm it even drove up a hill on its on at that rpm.

I'm stumped, it's gotta be some kind of sensor or something little because if it was a mechanical issue the car wouldn't run fine sometimes and be so smooth in other rpm ranges
