Looks great still jealous. Haha one day I will have to do my build and show you up. Lol. My girlfriend is actually pretty supportive of me building a drag only car. But as of right now it's a daily I can't afford to have down and apart.

I want to find someone that loves to race also. Would be fun as hell racing door to door at a track day around a course.

Guy at work found a wife like that. He's a Subbie guy but he has a nice 2014 WRX and he's super into gaming/comics/nerd stuff too and so is she. She isn't what I would call hot but she's not ugly either. They're about to spend $1500 on costumes for NY Comic Con in October. Are having them custom made and going as Darth Revan for $1k and Bastila Shan for $500 lmao.

And they go out to the road course with another guy I work with who does drift events in a track only 240sx.

Also got every valve guide and stem measured to make sure my clearances were in spec.

Got some more measurements to do, then come Thursday I'll order the rotating assembly and get ready to start reassembling it.

I found a nice rotating assembly but the only problem is the crank. It's a Ford Racing cast crank. I'm not sure what it's good to. It's either that or an forged eagle crank but eagle stuff is ****ty Chinese junk

The FRPP cast crank is the same crank as OEM. Good to about 600-700hp as long as you keep it under 7k RPM. They are not weak but not 4 figure strong either. They are also lighter than forged.

My advice would be to pick up a 96-04 forged Cobra/manual Mach crank and roll with that. Probably cost you $150-$200 for the crank and then whatever it might be to turn it.

The difference is the bolts and that's it. The 04 Romeo has a 6 bolt. Only 8 bolt cast cranks were on the Windsors.

So if I plan to stay in the 600-700 range for awhile I would be fine with either the ford racing crank or a cobra crank?

I would imagine a 600-700 hp new edge that only weighs about 2500lbs would be nothing to shake a stick at.

But I also don't expect to walk coyotes or anything crazy

With that power to weight ratio you definitely will. Unless they are making 850+

Forged eagle crank, or ford racing cast crank?

Also on the mmr rotating assembly it's mmr brand rods which from what I've read are basically Manley rods they are just finished at a different place.

But would you trust mmr to notch the pistons? And they offer a option for crankshaft balancing, so would I still need to internally balance everything else?

The only bad things I've heard about mmr is there customer service as far as returns and packaging and that they're complete engines and assembly sucks

Where to go next

After all I've heard from MMR it's might make race day. Did you look at cushman's rotating assemblies? I think I linked it here a couple pages back.

Here's a link to their forged rotating assembly. Still an eagle crank though.

Did you read the details? That's literally the exact same as mmr. That kit has the same mmr rods lol

Lmao it's all good man, I'd been looking at the two for weeks until I realized there where the same.

Reason I would pick mmr over cushman is because they will notch the pistons and the balancing

Im not going to port them much, just enough to get the rough spots out and the sharp edges

Not sure if anyone knows what good numbers are for pi heads or not but that's my baseline

Maybe some reading to consider.

Well I ported one cylinder today.

Did them 3 times and put them on the flow bench after every time.

First time on ihe intake side you can see I lost a little on the lower lifts and gained on the higher.

On the exhaust side I had games throughout all lifts.

By the third time porting I had got back some of the lower lifts I lost on the intake and exhaust side improved tremendously.

So i'm going to stop there and just get all the other cylinders to match this one and I should see pretty good gainsClick image for larger version

Ordering the rotating assembly, and k member kit tomorrow! And maybe the edelbrock intake.

Then once my tax return gets here I'll get the other small stuff like injectors and gaskets

The mmr set with the Manley stuff and ford racing crank. Getting the Pistons notched, and it all internally balanced.

And the upr kit, with coil overs and not sure what spring rate yet. Was hoping you guys would have some insight. It will be driven on the street some but mainly on weekends and to and from the strip and shows.

300/200 would be good for the street. I run 375/250 and it's not bad, but is rough.

Haven't updated in awhile, been kind of at a stand still.

I got my k member and coil overs in, got the old k disassembled and the a arms put on the new one. Still gotta bolt on everything else tho.

Also I weighed both and it's going to net a 72lb loss over what was up front.

Other than that I'm basically waiting on my rotating assembly to come in.

I still have somethings to order as well.
I gotta get the following:
Fuel pump
Fuel injectors
Oil pan w/ windage tray
ARP head bolts
ARP main studs
Throttle body for new intake
Valve covers

Until I sell my f150, I won't be getting the turbo kit. I was going to be able to before but I just dropped several thousand dollars on an engagement ring. So I made a more important decision in my opinion.

I talked to my tuner and he said he could tune it to run n/a on 60lb injectors that way I can still drive it until I purchase the kit.

But when I get the rotating assembly this all should start going together quickly

04 GT: CAI, 3.73, Longtubes, Full exhaust, Comp Cams 270's, Short throw, Pullies, BBK 73mm TB, MSD coils, 47lb injectors, MPT tuned, Steeda lowering springs, Front strut bar, MM caster camber plates and the list goes on.
