Quick question for anyone who knows..

What is the difference between the catted x-pipes from bbk for the 96-98 and 99-04. Part numbers are 1666 and 1670 respectively. Someone is selling the 1666 one for cheap and I have a 02 gt. Can it be used or no?

Another question...coming across inexpensive parts today locally. Can I reuse a pair of steeda x2 ball joints for 40 bucks? He said the boot has a little tear but I assume the boot can be replaced.

You can re-use anything. The boot can be replaced. I wouldn't get used balljoints tho unless I KNEW how many miles were on them and it was low and the boots weren't torn...

I would agree with Scotty. Reusing used balljoints is never good

Peace of mind is better than saving money on ball joints. Just my .02. I would get them new.

That's what I am going to do...the mod bug bit me hard lol....bbk x-pipe for 200.00. A trick flow upper plenum for 40.00. Next gears and a tuner...along with scottydsntknow's recommendation of a wideband o2 sensor.

After that go suspension as long as you already have a catback. Not going to get any more bolt on power.

You'll want lower control arms, subframe connectors, CC plates and a good set of shocks/struts for a basic starter suspension setup. This will be fine for a bolt on 2V on the street. Make sure to get a good alignment after dropping the car. CC plates are going to be required to do it right. Do NOT buy SR CC plates. MM or Steeda.

So as you all know I got my bbk catted x-pipe for 200.00 but I didn't get the downpipes from the manifold to the x-pipe. Are the something that the local muffler shop can take care of or am I just not finding the correct name for them online? And how bad am I screwed on this?

Did you get an X pipe for longtubes? If not and they just didn't give you the rest of the X pipe yeah they shafted you. I'd call back and ask WTF.

An exhaust shop can make anything yes, you'd have to see how much they'd charge and now you'll be paying labor for the install.

Don't tell the missus.

Should have bought the UPR catted pipe new for $300 shipped man...

Yeah..should a just bought the new one..lol I looked at it this am and it definitely is for stock length manifolds. So you think I could call bbk and see if they sell the downpipes? Otherwise I will just have one of the exhaust shops do it all.

2002 Mustang GT, BBK CAI, BBK catted x-pipe, Flow master Super 10's, Eibach lowering springs...more to come

You can call BBK and see if they'll sell them to you separately or try calling the seller and see if they have the pipes somewhere. Or at least to yell. But if you've seen a picture of a regular mid pipe I'm not exactly sure how you missed the two big *** pipes that go to the manifolds... If I was the seller and I didn't have the pieces I'd probably be like "you saw what you were getting". So probably best to just see if a shop or BBK has the stuff.

Bbk doesn't sell replacement downpipes so I will be going to the exhaust shop and have it done in the spring. Which is about a month and a half away

2002 Mustang GT, Trick Flow plenum, eibach lowering springs, BBK catted x-pipe, for now.......
