Does anyone offer kits for 32v swaps?

I found a bargain on a 97 Lincoln 4.6 DOHC and am contemplating swapping it into my 03 GT or selling it and making some money on it.

I've read through 32nomad's write up a few times and am wondering if anyone sells kits to help with this (such as extending wires).

I also want all my ducks in a row before doing the swap. This motor has B heads, do I need to upgrade them? (Such as the heads from newer Lincoln Continentals)

When I look for Mustang parts for this motor, do I need to look for 96-98 Cobra or newer like a Mach 1?

I'm in no hurry to do this- if I do it I want everything ready before starting since this is typically my daily ride.

Thanks man! I hope it happens too...

Something else- I'd like to find someone to source the fuel rails from to make it return less.

The swap is a 90-95% drop in so its not really going to be cost effective for anyone to make a kit. Even the 2V computer can run the 4V. Wire extension is just cutting and soldering and switching the injector wire polarity is also a pretty easy DIY.

B heads are good heads, the newer heads you are talking about are C heads which came on Continentals and 99/01 Cobras. You will also need a 99/01 Cobra or a Mach intake for those heads. You can keep the B heads or upgrade, your call/budget.

If you are going to keep the B head setup you will want engine parts from a 96-98 Cobra, if you go with the C heads you'll want 99/01 Cobra or Mach engine parts depending on what you are talking about. For body/driveline/suspension etc... stuff a lot of it is compatible throughout the 94-04 SN95 format run.

If this is your first time doing this I would not recommend doing it to your daily unless you have a beater lined up or someone you can rely on to get you from point A to point B when gremlins/issues come up.

If you are looking for a PnP kit and a better OEM replacement motor I'd say maybe do the 3V kit and 3V swap but TBTH... fresh 2V out of a 04+ Crown Vic and a power adder is probably your best bet.

Thanks Scotty.

I knew about extending the wires and that's the part that bugs me, along with modifying the fuel rail to a return less style.

I still have my pickup so I won't be afoot if something came up.

Will the harness and fuel rail from a Mach or Cobra work instead of extending those wires?

Also... I'd love to go 3v but this 4v motor was DIRT cheap. There's nothing wrong with my 2v so I can take my time and make sure the 4v is in great condition. The bargain I got on this motor is the only reason why I'm even considering it.
