Sorry to hear. I own an insurance agency. The insurance policy will pay up to, but no more than, the fair market value of your car.

Maybe this will be a blessing in disguise. Get some insurance money, sell your mods, and throw a little more that you have stashed away and you wont need a huge loan and can maybe qualify. If you can show your income, no matter what it is and have a good down payment it seems you could get a loan. People get loans everyday that have really bad credit or dont have a lot of income. At least you can show income Im assuming.

Really? That sucks. It just seems like it would if its a consistent income that you can verify each month or whatever. I dont know anything about them. Get a part time job for a couple months, just enough to show some pay stubs, lol. I know on the 2 vehicles I just leased in the past 2 weeks they didnt verify or ask for any verification of my income. I obviously filled out the app and put down my yearly income but thats all it really asked for. But who knows they may have some way of validating it, Ive never had to show any proof of employment even when I got my first car loan. Im sure you can find something good and un molested that you can buy outright. I would be itching to get a Coyote if it was me, haha.

I can't find any coyotes around here for less than 10k. My budget is maxing out for 8k. I'd love a newer 5.0.

If you did it would prob be a pile of crap with about 200k on it.

If I had a 8k budget like you I would look at the same year model you mentioned. Plenty of those in great shape to choose from and it's a decent upgrade from the new edge.

If anyone can answer this, I'd love to know if my mods will be covered. I can provide a full list of receipts but I did all the work. I live in Florida. Also I know in some states insurance companies are required to make you whole again which means paying registration and all that jazz.

I think I want the 2016 ecoboost F150 over the mustang. Just more practical and can have more power with less money. Like I said I'm looking at an 06 GT just wondering about them and their issues.

I know in MI and most states unless you had some kind of extended coverage I dont thik they will pay for performance mods over and above what they value the fair market on the car. But I could be wrong

Unless you called your insurance and specifically had them cover said parts then they will not replace them. They will only replace/repair to a stock condition unless as you pay the higher premium. In a lot of cases when you have that added to your insurance you have to submit receipts to verify the replacement cost of the additions.

All that being said, if you get in good with the shop doing the repairs they can work some numbers magic that will have the insurance pay for the repair and the shop orders your parts with the insurance company being none the wiser.

Well I'm glad my mother in law is in insurance. She knows the inspector coming out to look at my car and told him to take care of me well. She's been friends with him for about 10 years. I think if they do decide to fix my car I will have them delete the spoiler while they're at it. It'll cost them less in paint and supplies for sure so why not.

Well $3080 in damage. 2 new tail lights. 3rd brake light. New trunk, new rear bumper, new bumper support. Pulling all the damage out and filling with bondo. And paint matching from the sail panels back. Spoiler delete. They estimate 12 working days to fix my car. They were much more accommodating once my mother in law got ahold of them. Also got a Dodge Dart with unlimited mileage till its done.

I'm shocked it's getting repaired, I figured the repairs would exceed 80% of what the car is worth. Usually at that point they opt to total it. I thought you said it was dog walking? With potential frame or suspension damage and the obvious body work that estimate sure sounds cheap.

Wow that is crazy! I'd much rather keep my ride than have to get a new one that's awesome!

I really don't understand how it was so cheap. Seems like it needed more than just body work. I thought you couldn't drive it

Ok, quick question. You mentioned the rear end shifted towards the front of the car. Does that quote include drivetrain repairs? Just want to clarify.

It does look like it shifted. And that's something they will look into when they get it. So we will see. I guess it may have been under 80% but my mother in law did work her magic.

Yeah seems cheap like others have said. Seems also like 3080 would be close if not over 80% of the fair market value of your car, no offense as I have a 96 and an 03; mine would be in the same boat. I would definitely have them make sure there isnt more frame damage underneath it, didnt you say the driveshaft was even off or not lining up or something? I guess it could have just come loose or some other parts shifted and need to be replaced. Its very cool they are doing this for you since you liked the car so much and had put in your performance mods etc etc. Good to hear, buddy!! Let us know how it turns out, Im excited to see it wingless.

Glad to hear you can keep it since that sounded like what you wanted. But wow, I was surprised to read only $3,080 damage and they didn't total it. But hey, what do I know? . . . . . . .

I'm lucky that they didn't total it and I got what I got for it. It's getting towed today to a body shop that I know does good work and just won't slather on the bondo.

This is what I would have tried to do but it all depends on the situation. Ive actually hoped someone would have hit some of the cars Ive had over the years, just because I was sick of them, lol. But of course the situation in my head is that no one would be hurt, and miraculously the car that hit mine didnt have any damage, like a huge truck with an even bigger front push bar made out of a mixture of cast iron, titanium, hardened steel, and maybe toss in some diamond bits for some grinding/cutting action.

Lol it got hauled off today to a very reputable body shop. My mother in law is the best. She knows insurance that's for sure. Basically told them that they aren't going to total it and she knows they have 10k to work with. It's getting fixed up and will be spoilerless! No frame or axle damage. They said it specs out and it was just the way the body was pushed in on that side that made an optical illusion.

2003 GT: JLT CAI, summit 75mm TB, C&L plenum, 24# injectors, Mac Prochamber, SLP LM1 cat back, 3.73 Gears, FR500 Diff, FR500 diff cover, Jmod trans and shift kit, Max Motorsports subframes, Koni oranges front and rear, DBA discs front and rear, shrader performance rear seat delete, APSX D2 wideband, MPT happy customer.
