My pony is no more.

This morning at 3:30 am a mom coming home hit my car after falling asleep. It moved the cars rear end across the drive way. The fender is damaged near the tail light. It pushed the metal of the tail light housing back. Destroyed the trunk and shifted it. Shifted the axle about an inch towards the gas tank. Click image for larger version

Well, at least she wasn't hurt. But yeah, that doesn't sound so good if it's driving like that. Are you sure the insurance company will total it? (And I'm not trying to be a smart a**, I'm not really up on body work).

Yea I was pissed at first but now I'm glad she's alright and she did the right thing. She's a mother of 3 and works late nights. I'm glad she didn't fall asleep on the highway. I would imagine it's totaled, the quarter panel will need replacing the exhaust on the passenger side it bent the axle is shifted trunk won't close because it is shifted. It's 13 years old and has 212k on it.

I don't know what I'm going no to do at this point. I may have to try to go after her property damage insurance because unfortunately I don't think they're going to give me much for the car. My girlfriends mother is in insurance so I'll have to see what she would do.

Its just a waiting game now. Until her insurance co. Comes out and evaluates the damage and the situation. I don't park close to the street just for this reason. I never thought this would happen.

Sorry you lost your car. Glad the woman is ok though. Hopefully like you said you can get enough insurance money to start over again with another Mustang.

Sorry to hear man. Maybe talk to someone. One of those free ambulance chasers. Mainly just to scare the insurance into doing right by you. But if you know someone in insurance probably work the same. Swap all mods you can. At least she and you are ok!

It would be nice to finance a new car. Only problem is no one will finance a student on the GI bill even though I make more money going to school than most people working 40 hours a week.

Damn I loved this freaking car. I'm looking at parts to possibly repair it. Just waiting to see what insurance is going to do. I went and talked to the lady she was ok and not hurt. She couldn't apologize more and said if I need anything just call her. She lives literally down the road and almost made it home. I'm just glad she hit my car instead of the maple tree that wouldn't have been as forgiving. She was inches from hitting it.

Sorry to hear, that's rough. I know I would be so pissed but at the end of the day it's just a car and what's most important is that everybody is okay.

That being said I hope the insurance side works out for you. If it does, I'd strip her down of all the mods you put on and either save them for a replacement or sell to recoup some coin.

Thanks everyone. Yea if they do end up totaling it out. Which I think they will the axle is moved an inch toward the driver side. That means the torque boxes were bent. Quarter panel is a lot of work as well. I will have to take everything off of it and buy something else. I'm looking at a 2007 V6 midnight black.

Yah repairs like that can be more troublesome than they appear. I imagine with an impact like that things were flexed and twisted beyond norm and will never be completely true again. And quarter panel has to be done correctly to not show in the paint.

What draws you to the 07 v6?

This is horrible! It would be different if you crashed it but the fact that someone else wrecked your car for you is a horrible feeling I could only imagine

Hope something will get worked out in your favor

I will for sure if the insurance totals it. You'll find some parts in the for sale section. I found a 06 GT as well with 94k on it for 8k.

Yea it looks good and has low miles. Nothing done to it. Bone stock. It's a dark blue with black leather interior.
