What Kind of Hood Is This?

I have a stupid question. I saw this mustang on Facebook and hsve been in love with the hood. It appears to be a cowl hood with a gt scoop worked into it. Does anyone know what hood this is and where I can find it? It doesn't look like the scoop was just set on either. Thanks everyone!

That hood kind of looks custom made to me. This is the closest I could find. http://www.cervinis.com/99-04-mustan...ml#prettyPhoto[gallery1]/3/

Dang. That's what I was afraid of. That was the closest that I could find also.

How would a person go about getting a hood like that made? would it even be worth the money?

The easiest way is to walk up to a trusted body shop and give them a fat check. I personally don't think know it would be worth it, but it's all about how much you're willing to invest into something unique like that.

We both may be wrong and somebody might actually make it, but I've never seen it. Hopefully that's the case though.

Thank you for the replies. I'm still not really seeing the hood. It looks like the scoop is a little wider than all the ones that I can find. Maybe it's just the picture but it looks a little different than what I can find.

What Kind of Hood Is This?

Looks like a stock GT hood scoop on top of a Cobra R hood with slight modifications to me. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Every day is a joyride.

its similar to a Cobra R hood, Amerihood carries it & you can get it on EBAY but they. call it T2 because of copyright laws. It has a 3" rise with air channels built in , its not some scoop just slapped on a stock hood, it uses stock hood latch & hinges

It almost looks like. Mach 1 hood with a scoop on it. The type 2 hood looks like it has 2 small raised parts leading to the scoop that the picture I posted doesn't have. It looks wider than that in the picture. It's probably just the angle. I hope I'm not besting a dead horse. It's hard to find any examples of the Type 2 hood on cars.

Looks a lot like the hood I put on my 04. If it is it's a "Spider Hood" by Tru-Fiber.
I'll post a pic.

It looks very similar. I wonder if it was custom made or maybe the dark blue is hiding the lines that the other hoods have leading to the scoop.

i doubt its a custom made hood , that would cost a stack of $$$ , Bet its a T2 , i Plan on getting 1 myself this spring , great looking hood . Think the angle of your pic may be throwing us off a bit , Good Luck hunting , let us know how you make out.

The hood posted by the OP seems to have a drastically larger scoop compared to the T2.

Perhaps it is the T2 with a modified scoop as well?

Looks like a stock GT hood scoop on the t2 or what ever it's called. To me at least.

scoop opening does look bigger , but the pic is taken with the camera in a low position , Do you have another shot taken from higher angle?

I agree with Recon. I looks like some type of fabbed up cowl hood with a GT scoop dropped on. You can see the defined lines of the hood scoop.

The T2 hood has a smaller molded scoop. The T5 is has a larger, similar shaped scoop molded in as one piece and has some ugly shapes on each side, looks ricey to me. It's not the hood in the pic the OP posted.

Personally I think it's kinda fugly. Looks chopped up and glued together imo. If you want heat extraction, get a termi hood or or a nice functional cowl hood.

Yes I can. It's not that hard to see. If you are able to zoom in on the pic it's a bit easier to see.
Also I have a GT hood scoop in the same color, sonic blue and it looks just like that at that angle on my car.
