Bolt on HP

I have an 04 GT and what was wondering what RWHP I would be at with the following mods. TIA

LT headers
O/R x pipe
Mac exhaust
78mm TB
TB spacer
Accel super coils
BBK CAI
Steeds UDP
24lb injectors
4:10 gears
And the race tune from Bama

Most with full bolt ons that you listed with a good dyno tune around 248-255hp depending on the dyno at the rear wheels.

Dont waste your money on the CAI, the stock one is good or better than the metal BBK, if you want to get the better CAI get a JLT, even then I would save my money. Put the money you save from the CAI towards a upper intake plenum, get the Summit tb/plenum combo made by Trickflow, best deal. Also forget the intake spacer and the Accel coils they wont add anything, if anything those coils can cause issues. If you need new coils get OEM or rebuild the springs and boots for cheap.

Anyway, I would not buy the intake spacer, CAI, or the Accel coils. Thats a little bit of coin to save if you add all of them up. The UDPs you mentioned are also something I would probably skip on too some say they net you a few HP from the accessorie drain but its less than 2-3 HP from what Ive seen in real life. Get the tb/plenum from Summit instead. Get a tune from MPT or somewhere that data logs and gives you a true custom tune if not doing it local on an actual dyno.

The 410 gears are a great addition and probably the one you feel the most seat of your pants improvement and they dont add any HP.

If you want the CAI, pullies, spacer for some under hood bling for shows etc then thats up to you but Id skip on them if your after HP.

Using this forum and others Im glad I learned about what works and what doesnt so I didnt waste any money. Is your car a stick? If so get a Steeda Triax or MGW shifter. Then work on suspension when you're done with your bolt ons, full length welded in sub frames, rear lower control arms, lowering springs, and a good set of wheels and tires.

Maybe 290, but probably closer to the 275 range

04 GT: CAI, 3.73, Longtubes, Full exhaust, Comp Cams 270's, Short throw, Pullies, BBK 73mm TB, MSD coils, 47lb injectors, MPT tuned, Steeda lowering springs, Front strut bar, MM caster camber plates and the list goes on.

Ok sweet thanks for the input as far as suspension. I've already lowered it, strut tower brace, shock tower brace, rear upper and lower control arms, subframe connectors and I'm running the factory cobra wheels wrapped in 275/40/17 all the way around

I was full bolt on, cammed and such. With the mods in my sig I broke 300 but if you want anything more your going to need a power adder

You have suspension taken care of sounds like. Id be careful with the upper control arms in the rear depending on how hard you launch. 290 is pretty high to the wheels without changing the cams, with bolt ons and cams with a good dyno tune you can see 290-310ish rwhp from what Ive seen anyway, Im sure every set up can be diff or how aggressive the tune is etc.

I would love to see 275-280 with those bolt ons.. And it would probably be just over 300 in tq I'm assuming?

I had SR CAI, BBK 78mm TB, stock coils, stock injectors, SR Pulleys then but steeda pulleys now, no headers but SLP catted X pipe and LM1 catback, Bama 93 octane custom tunes (used the race tune) and put down 255rwhp and 290tq. You should look at 270rwhp+ and around 300tq.

I'm burnt out on typing corrections to lists like the OP posted. Steve pretty much nailed it. If he wants to waste all his money he can get all that stuff. PPl need to actually do research. Car comes stock with #21 injectors (example) and even #19s would be fine. 24s are a complete waste of his money.

To keep it short and sweet for the original poster. There is very little you can do power wise besides exhaust before you have to get into the internals of the motor. Almost nothing you listed will do anything.

Full bolt on/tune PI car is about 250rwhp.

Thanks for the input. I've just come across so many inputs from different people but you guys sum it up. Gonna have to do cams if I wanna see any actual power

You do cams and you'll still get your doors pulled off by a bolt on F body and it'll cost a solid $1500-$2k if you have to pay for labor. Not to say its not a fun car in bolt on or cammed form but you will not be actually fast without a power adder.

I've read that you build a SC for less than 2k (used Kenne bell) buying the parts separately. Would that be worth it in terms of money well spent?

You can do the charger itself used as a whole kit for $1500 or so depending on where you get it from. But then you also need fuel and a tune and then the rest of the car needs to be able to handle the power.

Do a mid pipe, catback, shifter and a tune. Then work on suspension and enjoy it.

Obviously do a tune up if you have not yet. New COP boots/springs, new plugs, fresh fluids etc...

What I listed is what I basically plan for my 03. Nothing crazy for the time being. Once I get that stuff done including the suspension stuff and a Jmod (mine is an auto) much much further down the road, at least it seems Ill go FI or sell it and upgrade. At my current pace it will be 2020 and Ill be able to buy a used Coyote for 7-8k, lol. Ill always be a step behind, but it does not bother me to live within my means and have a nice poor mans "hot rod" to cruise around in and not feel like I sunk too much money in it or its a money pit. I dont care about being the fastest car on the road, if I can add a little power, make it sound good, look good, and run good I will be happy for now. If I wanted the fastest thing I wouldn't have got the 2 Mustangs I have, haha. Dont get me wrong I enjoy "fast" and making people look dumb by wasting them, and Ive had cars that were more in that category, but Im good for now. I enjoy these cars and for the most part they look really good when done right and you don't have to spend a ton

I'm sitting at LT, Cams, And a Throttle body lol. As long as I break 300 hp, I'll be happy with the little 2v.

You should be able to get damn close to 300 whp with that set up. "Full" bolt ons, cams, dyno tune you should hit it, if not be a little under. All dependent on your tuner at that point. Lucky!

Cushman himself has said in the past on forums (and his site I think) that "my cams don't always make the best dyno numbers but will not be outperformed".

You can always do the HP292 cams. They are stock regrinds so you can send your cores off to be done and then drop them right back in as they came out. No spring change or anything and they sound amazing. Look up some vids on youtube.

I'm just glad I didn't push purchase when I posted that I had bought everything. That was right when I started to kick around going 4V and I held off on the shopping cart.

This time of year coincides with all the buildups for the race season and also tax returns. The shop I'm having look at my heads and blocks has about a 2 week turnaround for all orders right now they are so backed up but they expect it to slow down drastically in mid May.

Emailed them and requested to have my grind on the cams changed from stage 1 to stage 2. Also ordered a set of their aftermarket valve Springs since they say springs are required for the cams.

Springs are a giant hooker on these cars just FYI. Especially with the motor in the car. I'm going to have the springs on the 4V heads done when they get gone though by the shop.
