Hydro boost leaking

My hydro boost is leaking right where it bolts up to the piece that is bolted to the firewall. It's dripping right onto my longtubes and it smells horrible. Should i replace the hydro boost unit only or also replace the MC? is it possible to replace the gasket? Thanks!!

There is probably a seal inside of the booster that has failed, so you will have to replace it.
It really depends on the mileage on the car as to whether the master cylinder should be replaced as well. They typically last a long time, and when they do fail, only half of the brakes (front or rear) are affected, so it gives you some warning when it needs to be replaced.

Do you know if i can just open the hydro booster up and replace that one seal that is leaking, or just buy a new one? The reason why i am asking is these things can be pretty complex inside and i don't want to mess anything up.

I'm not aware of any rebuld kits to repair the booster so you will probably have to buy a new one.
But who knows? You might find something that is easily repaired once you remove the booster and give it a closer inspection.

I had the same issue on my 2000. I never found a "rebuild" kit for it. I just replaced the whole thing. Had to take my old hydrobooster in for a core charge too.

Lame. Mines leaking just like the one in the picture. Is it a pretty straight forward install for a new booster?
