How to install c clip in rear axle

Im replacing my rear axle in my 98 gt 5 speed and have the old one out, putting new one in but for the life of me i can not get the c clip in. Anybody know of any tricks or advice? It was super easy getting it out of course but getting it back in is a PITA. Its starting to rain so i am limited on time also. Thanks for any help. I appreciate it

I wish it were that easy for me. I think that s shaped thing shifted a little not allowing the axle to go all the way in to where i can put clip on and its preventing the pinion pin to go all the way in. How do i move this thing around so i can get the axle all the way on and pinion back in?

I got the axle put back together. The problem was that s shaped spring thing in the middle shifted back preventing the axle to be pushed in all the way and also wasnt lined up so the pinion pin couldnt be pushed back into place. I rotated the axle 180 degrees and tapped it into place with a rubber mallet. Easy fix. This is was my first time changing axles or working on a rearend in general. So i didnt know what to expect.

Learning has occurred! Yea that's the biggest challenge with changing gears. Other than that it's pretty straight forward.

Just one reason why using "C" clip eliminators is so helpful...........the other is that if/when the C clip breaks or the axle breaks.......the wheel/tire/axle/brakes and all leave in a hurry.......
